Is it stopping you from riding? I hope they alter the positions of the fence posts while they're at it.

Of course it won't stop me from riding. It's just a bit of a bugger is all. Apparently they're fixing up the bank, and I heard (now it might be a rumour) that LTNZ are going to have bikes only on the hill on Sunday between 1000 and 1200 with timing lights at the top and bottom.

I can't understand why they don't put a tunnell through for the cars and leave the hill road open only for bikes.

Coz squids riding GSXR600s would be contiually throwing themselves off the side if they didn't have cages to slow them down.

Serious? Not a p/t?
Im guessing the only reason they would do that is to make money.
Must time myself on my hyobag before getting a bigger bike.

Everywhere I go I see bloody vandals ruining our roads. Straightening out perfectly good corners, scraping the tops off perfectly good hills and risers filling in lovely little dips and curves. Have they no conscience or sense of decency.
It brings tears to my eyes, even gives me sleepless nights.
If I had a dollar for every mile of road I've seen sacrificed in the name of the cage I would be a rich man. Soon NZ will be just one great big straight road.
There used to be a really challenging little riser in the Lindis pass and if you knew where it was, started well back and held your speed up over a 120mph minimum turning into it you could get a lot of lift up and flying, even two up. It was bloody fantastic, the oldgirl used to start tightening her grip at Tarras, of course she didn't appreciate it like I did.
The dirty vandals took the top off it and really pissed me off. Couldn't do it on my current steed anyway but shit was a great feeling, on my ST1100. (they aren't that heavy when you rack into them but tyres get expensive). I would have loved to try it on a really fast sprot bike. Road works should be banned. :crybaby: Cheers John.

According to the Hutt News the works are to stabilise a bank on the Featherston side, about 1km from the twin bridges. Should still give us a good chance for some fun, assuming we don't rear end the cars stopped in the massive queue for the lights.

Bugga! I was thinking about a ride over the hill on my next visit to the Hutt later in the month. Maybe I will have to do the Haywards and the Paekok hill again...
