Hi People. :spudwave:

I change my own tyres and have just replaced the rear on the Gixxer. After a burn out in the back yard. What a stink. Glad the washing on the line was not mine Anyway the question is....

When you replace your rubber do you clean off the small amounts of rubber that sticks to the rim beads?

Every time or just from time to time?

I have replaced about 5 tyres on this rim and it is the first time I have cleaned the inner sealing bead. I was surprised to see how much silicon (rubber) had built up on the surface.

Thanks. A decent answer at last. I assume people expect others to just know this stuff. So thanks.
