So how many more game junkies do we have here <img src="/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif"> I’ve been playing games since the first table top spacies turned up at the local dairy back in form one. I do most of my gaming on PS2 and some online gaming with Counter-Strike. Been playing the Grand Theft Auto series mostly. It's gotta be the best game I've played.

If ya thinking of getting a console for yourself or ya kids, forget the XBox. It doesn’t have the GTA games (itself a reason not to get it) and it has been loosing money since its launch and continues to do so. Plus I refuse to help Bill ‘fascist bastard’ Gates get a monopoly on the electronic world.

The Nintendo GameCube is not even worth mentioning as it doesn’t play DVDs and will only ever have kiddies games on it.

The games I have for the PS2.

<div align="center"><center><table cellpadding="10"><tr><td><img src="/images/ps2_gta3.jpg" alt="Grand Theft Auto III"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_dropship.jpg" alt="Dropship"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_jd.jpg" alt="Jak &amp; Dextar"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_gta-vc.jpg" alt="Grand Theft Auto: Vice City"></td></tr><tr><td><img src="/images/ps2_dmc.jpg" alt="Devil May Cry"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_ico.jpg" alt="ICO"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_mgs2.jpg" alt="Metal Gear Solid 2"></td><td><img src="/images/ps2_cmr3.jpg" alt="Colin McRae Rally 3"></td></tr></table></center></div>

One of the games I highly recommend is ICO. If you want a game where you don’t almost throw the controller through the TV screen from sheer frustration, ICO is the game for you. It's not like any game I've played before. Relaxing game play with beautiful scenery. I would also recommend hiring the game instead of buying it. After I brought it I sat down and played it pretty much non-stop and finished it in two days.

Yes to that, Mainly multi player PC games, BF 1942 and the new patch 'Desert Combat' , RTCW (return to castle wolfenstein) counter strike etc, oh yes and unreal 2003.

have not got my PS 2 yet (refer to my post in females who can understand them) waiting till after I have brought my house, painted the bike and built a bigger faster PC.

got the PS and nintendo 64.
played the XBox, graphics are unreal, did not think much of the games with the exception of 'HALO' the most amazing game out, lucky for me they are bringing it out on p.c and it is a multi player.

Played GTA3, that is one awsome game, looking forward to playing vice city, really enjoyed GT3 as well, over all with all the games and graphices, I would go with the PS2.

I used to have the PS and N64. Do you have your PS chipped ? Also do you have a <a href="http://www.icequake.net/n64/mirror/www.pacificgrove.com/n64/backup.htm">Doctor V64</a> or like device. I also had the doctor v64 for my N64. It allows you to copy the RoM images off the N64 game cartridges. I brought an NTSC N64 so I could download the RoMs off the net from guys in the US. Was able to get Zelda 64 two weeks before it even turned up in US stores :bigthumb:

Yeah, I'm a gamer, mainly PC tho, mostly multiplayer online stuff playing DoD(a WW2 mod for halflife), & a bit of strategy, although I prefer first-person-shooters. I also have GTA3 for the PC, & can't wait for Vice City, so's I can do stupid things on motorbikes as well as cars. :D

Yes my PS is chipped, I do not have a V64, I do remember something like that for the supernes, it used disc and you could copy games and stuff and play them on the supernes..

I have got GTA3 on the p.c as well, going out to get the new Road to Rome mod be BF 1942, if anyone out there is into that, in stores now.

still working on the missus, she asked me what we should tell people to buy us for our engagement party, and I said PS2, she goes, no one will buy that, and I told her I had already organised it with my mates.

I play online almost every night - mainly Ghost Recon, Sum of all Fears, Flight Sim, V8 Challenge, Combat Flight Sim, GP4, Toca 2 and GP500

Also have a PS2 - but mainly play racing games.

I disagree with your comments about the X Box - it is everything the PS2 should have been. It has completed interconnectivity allowing it to be played via modem with normal PC's etc and the graphics are well better than the PS2.

The new PS3 should be a excellent machine, expecially given its running with Intel hardware.

Your comments re the X Box losing money are slightly off the mark- they are selling in at a loss on purpose to undercut the PS2 and intend to make the money/margins back off of the games.

I love both consoles and I buying the X Box shortly (call me stupid) as it is not as bad as it looks.

If you play online via Zone or UBI my game name is Wkid_One - see you there.

Hmmmm I had a ZX81 once, and played the Hobbit on a ZX Spectrum. Strange they never brought out LOTR on the Spectrum, but there you go :) I also wonder if Sinclair was a Kawasaki fan, since he prefixed everything with ZX?

I have a PS2, but only a few games as I have too much other stuff to do. Final Fantasy X is good....still not finished it....also have motoGP, some snow boarding game, and Harry Potter 2. Worst thing about motogp is my 6 year old beats me.....he just goes full throttle, doesn't bother braking or turning at the corners and takes me out big time. I dread what he'll be like when he gets to driving/riding age :p

I've got four bikes, two rifles, a shotgun, untold fishing rods and a huge pile of unread magazines. Can't quite figure what I'd do with a playstation...:(

To each his own...

Its now in storage for my 3year old daughter.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Santa delivered a X-box kit with 3 games,2 controllers &amp; a dvd remote and my eldest boys are wrapped. From this if you want to entertain, you can program it to play any or all stored.&nbsp;&nbsp; Heres the kicker , you can change the background music in any game from your selections.&nbsp; Graphics are better than ps2 , 300 new game titles due march 2003, including totally revamped&nbsp; v8 challenge .

&nbsp;:done: Go get one you wont be disappointed&nbsp;

ps halo can be played off line with up to 16 using 4 tvs &amp; 4 consoles,&nbsp; online 32.

Woohoo, another GTA game on its way. GTA3 and Vice City were the best console games I've played, and now we have Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to look forward to  :niceone:

I used to be the king of Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3 back in the days when I was into me cages.

Its been a good few years since I last played playstation but if anyone is interested in chalanging me on GT, I am up for it! (I'll probably get my ass kicked but geez I love that game..... Well I used to anyway)

Been gaming since the late 80s or so but never very seriously. Hence I sucked at Wolf 3D, I sucked at Doom, I sucked at Duke3D and Quake and now I suck at CS. Oh well. I still go online now and then on some of the NZ CS servers to get slaughtered by pimply teenagers.

I don't have a PS2 because I just don't have time to play at home these days. Two toddlers are enough of a timesucking black hole without adding the lure of GTA when they've gone to bed...

Looking forward to Half-Life 2, though.

Yeah I've got a chipped Xbox with a 120GB drive in it. Both the PS2 and XBox have their pros and cons. My friends all have PS2s which I borrow regularly so it only made sense to get an Xbox so we could get the best of both worlds.

However the Xbox pulls ahead once you chip it - basically turns it into a mini PC. You can plug it into your home network (with its builtin network card) and FTP over all your fav divx/mpgs/mp3 etc from off your PC to enjoy from the comfort of your couch. Also all the clever hackers out there have ported all sorts of programs for the xbox (Mame32, Media Player, Linux etc) just to spite Bill Gates :)

You can even rip games and DVDs straight to the Xboxs harddrive so you can play them without needing the CDs anymore (*cough* video store goodness *cough*).

Currently on my Xboxs drive I have:

50 ripped DVDs
1000's of mp3s
600 music videos
11 "backed up" xbox games (good on ya Video Ezy!!)
Mame (with 1600 roms), Gameboy, Sega and Nintendo emulators.

Playing Gauntlet, Defender, Mr Do and all those other old school arcade games are heaps more fun on a console too and a lot more convenient as you can flick over to it during the ad breaks.

I play online almost every night ... Flight Sim, Toca 2
so how does one play Toca 2 online? Always enjoyed that game! I've never ventured into multiplayer racing (had a long stint with quakeworld for a few years though)
is there a local league or something?

Myself, I was an avid gamer from around '88ish on a spectrum/amstrad or some such thing. Went through Ataris and Amigas and on to PCs, up until the turn of the century.
Since then the only gaming has been a bit of gran turismo 2 and flight sim as my computer gets older and I become less inclined to spend money on it.

Yeah, same here. I've got an 80gb hdd in my xbox and it is definately the best way to go. You can actually mod them to run windows/linux so that it is a real computer.

I use mine mainly for watching movies that i download on tv, dvd's and a little bit for gaming, (mainly use my pc for that).

But if you chip it you can't play xbox live, that sucks a bit.

Looked at the XBox recently - but I have the PS2 and don't use that enuf to warrant it. Have the PS2 modded and will most likely wait until the PS3 comes up before upgrading the platform.

As for PC - well I just completely rebuilt mine and it is fair humming. Waiting until the 64bit systems come out before upgrading tho.

Tend to spend more time on the PC than platform -as gaming time has reduced and when I do play - I play games on line and platforms just don't match PC's for online play.

Mind you - I love Gran Turismo also and have been known to enter my times in the world ranking sites from time to time.

Ummm - Hoon - your XBox harddrive must be incredibly bigger than 120Gb - as 50 DVD's alone would take about about 350Gb of space? Then the 1000's of MP3's would take another 4gb per 1000. Not to mention the other items stored on your drive?? LIke music vids at 50mb each - and you have 600??

50 DVD movies can take less than 50GB of space when they are copied as DivX.

Never got into consoles, so I console myself with Grand Prix Legends on the PC . - the I.O.M. TT track in a Ferrari 312 is awesome!

After reading this thread, I just rememberd that I used to play Toca 2 on PC. If anyone wants to download skins for cars that I had created from scratch in Paint brush, they are welcome to. Note: it was made in Paint brush so the quality may not be of the highest standards.

http://www.geocities.com/turbonos69/Toca2Skins.html

P.S. There is nothing else on the website other than thoes skins. I just started it back when I was 17 then I got boared after working on it for 2 nights.
