Who else had a good ride this morning?

I travel from Ngaio to Gracefield (Petone-ish) and had the quickest trip ever...the roads were in good nick, traffic light and compliant, think I saw Jim2 (this early?!?!?!) and waved to someone on a blue GSX250 (2004).

Its good to be riding.

ps - I get to work about 7:45am...do I see YOU each morning?

[edit] perhaps title should be 'ce belle matin'...

Yea, its such a beautiful day. Its such a shame that I had to go to work, was really tempted to just keep on going.....

I went round the bays on the way to work thinking it'd be nicer than going through the tunnel, but the traffic was moving at about 5km/h the whole way! I was expecting there to be some major roadworks to cause that, but there was absolutely nothing! argh.

I use that as an excuse to 'laud it over the cagers'. Fun fun fun.

I caught the bus. A fat smelly man sat next to (on) me. I think he farted.

I suppose it's motivation to get the bike sorted.

But I'm not upset about it - much :(

I spent a good 10 years taking public transport before I got my bike and I reckon that if peoples arses are a certain width or wider they should be made to pay for two seats..... Not very pc I know, but its how I feel.

Fat bastards should be made to walk. They're fat after all and need the excercise. I'm just pissed coz it's been *#$@!*!! of a day (for me) so far. And I left me cell phone at home (with all my notes and sh*t on it) :stupid:

BUT I'm still smiling coz if I don't I'm gonna hurt someone.

Why thank-you Ma'am that's right neighbourly of you. Not needed now though, the meeting I needed it for has just been - up in smoke!! Woooweee!!! Some o' dem fellers jus' wanna fight!!

After I'd given my presentation I sat down and said pretty much nothing. I did ask a question that raised a lot of other queries that people should have considered but didn't - then the shit fight started - and it wasn't my fault.:2thumbsup But it made me feel better coz it was really just a big c*ck swinging contest between the two head honchos there (ooo there's some baaad blood there!!)
So things have gotten better and I might go for a walk at lunch in the sun:woohoo:

We're in the heady heights (cloudy) of the Karori hills (above the sanctury). In a nice quiet cul-de-sac. And there's a couple of other bikers in our street. One guy who goes (to work?) at 5:30 in the morning when I'm off to the gym and my neighbour across the road who's just got a new GN with 'L' plates (It's so purty - all shiny and new).

Awww come on. It's all shiny and it sparkles in the sun. I think I might see if they'll call it 'Sparkles'. Then I can think of it while I'm in the 'Dungeon' (garage under the house) getting my bike all polished up - and back together.

The 'Dirty Ol' Beast'?? I wouldn't want to grubby up the site. I'll have to get the forks back on first and that means finishing cleaning the trees and frame fraont and wheel ...... or I could just put it back together and borrow one o'dem flash new fangled cameeras.

I gotta say Nudz (just a little off topic) I'm quite proud of myself. Got those seals all done myself. And after replacing the fuel pump on the missus car on the weekend - I'm almost a qualified mechanic!! Hahaha

It'll be good to get back on the road tho' (wistful sigh)

Do you ride a black GT250? Pretty sure that I followed you southward on SH2 a couple of weeks ago.

Hey, good on you, Colapop !!!!!!!!

I love to see some DIY going on. To many people give up and take to a shop when a little help and perseverence is all you need.

We'll have to go for a ride sometime.

Cheers

Today is the first day in a long while that I havent had to ride to work as Im working from home today. Bloody great looking out over the water with the sun shining.
I did go for a short ride at about 9.30am just to the bank and took the long way home around the Pauatahanui inlet. Brilliant

Well it's blue and sort of like a scaled down GSX1400, but much slower. And a bit like the bike in my picture, although I've got to update with the new screen and shock.

A pole dancing motorbike named Sparkles ..... interesting....:blip:

You don't need to bag GN's they have a valid place in getting many people on the way to becoming fully fledged bikers. They're cheap as chips, to buy and to run and they're a pretty stable bike too.

Nah, mate im not really bagging them! My first bike was a GN250 brand new it was and it was my pride and joy, until I wrote it off by taking out a barrier pole on the back roads of Martinborough. You see its easier to blame the bike than myself.... (j/k)

She's just pissed her GN used to beat her up. Fortunately, like a good battered woman, she finally listened to advice and left it on the side of the road somewhere and found something better almost straight away.

Which reminds me, why do we not see Str8 on any TRTNR?

My ride to work this morning was completely uneventful. Enough traffic watching the truck and two cops on the other side of the road for me to assert my ego over the cars (and scooter), and then enough clear road to remind me why people think I'm so mad.

Then I pulled into the carparks in town to notice that the bike park was completely full. Damn scooters... So I parked on the footpath. It didn't have a ticket at lunchtime, always a good thing ;)

Yeah I know what that's like. Try 120 in the main st of Wairoa and binned it, no insurance, 4 weeks in hospital. Wasn't my fault though, it was poor road conditions and other idiot drivers going 50k an hour, and the sun was in my eyes....

hmmm, where do I begin..... Since my encounter with the wind I have only been on the motorway once, that was on a perfect day. Secondly, I don't like you.
Nah my bikes just not up to it. I need to get a decent rear tyre and tomoro it is going in to have my handle bar welded straight (its a bitch trying to turn hard right atm) and some wiring stuff done, my horn doesn't work nor do either of my headlights. Maybe next year sometime MAYBE!
Oh yeah one more thing, Im not fast enough!!!

Oh yeah one more thing, Im not fast enough!!!Yeah, cos that Comet 250 at the back is a friggin rocket ship - that mad bastard hits the takas, drops the knee down and farks off into the distance!

In all seriousness, confidence, girl, confidence. Fear is overrated (says he who can't get his knee down!). You own the bike, not the other way around!

Unfortunately I suffer from a bad case of ego-itis, I hate lagging behind and do my best to keep up, thats when my concentration goes and then I start to panick which in turn cause me to crash. But your right confidence is what I lack and I know I aint getting it by not coming along but I have to be sensible about it. I know that my bike aint "safe" on long rides yet and when it is then I shall start pushing myself to get out there.

Str8 - honest, mate, it's an all speeds ride. So long as you can hack 100k on the mway you won't get left behind. And it's pretty social, no one is in a hurry to get anywhere, we all wait (or get waited for). Appreciate the safety points though, safety is kinda important!

Well I'll see how long it takes to get my bike sorted, if I win Lotto then it won't take long at all! And no promises but I MAY come along one night.

So, V lady how's your bike and wrist coming along?

The missus has been dropping me off in the mornings (and pickin' me up) cos I haven't got the D.O.B back on the road yet, an' we just shoot down Birdwood (next to the park) at about 1/4 to 8. I've seen a couple of bikers along there though.

Not too bad - still a bit sore when I'm picking up heavy stuff but hopefully ok enough to pull in the clutch. The issue is sorting the bike cause that's the thing that's the main prob at the mo - I live 3ks from a bus stop so I need my bike!

(Crazylittleshit would be a Birdwood St regular too - he's on a silver 636.)
