The 40min Paul Nixon memorial race is on this weekend.
Paul Nixon was a southland engineer who was deeply involved with motorcycling down south. Sadly he passed away a few years ago.
So each year the Southland Motorcycle Club run a 40min race in his memory.
Usually a good time to practice for the Nationals as you get a heap of track time.
This year I'm lucky enough to ride one of Paul's creations, a CBR600f3 powered CBR400. This was made for a friend of mine to compete in the Formula 2 class in the Nationals in 99 (yes the same year the alloy framed CBR600f4 came out:doh: ). Has all the goodies on it and was right up there with the Castrol Honda machines(f4's).
I won't be quite so competitive, but i'll think i'll have fun riding this lil wee beast:devil2:
I'm gonna have fun.......
