Yes, it's that time of the week again, Deano hasn't posted so I'll hijack another opportunity to do so.
Carpark (bottom of Maungaraki Hill on SH2, between Korokoro & Melling) 6-6.30pm. All speeds welcome - seriously if you are happy doing 100k on the mway you won't get left behind. The hardcore are happy to wait for those without the deathwish or horsepower.
Usually a "gentle" ride to an agreed upon locale, followed by [deleted - not for publication], followed by social intercourse. Usually ending up at the pool hall (Breakers?) above Grumpy Mole in the Hutt.
The takers this week are???

Ive taken to eating pies for ballast. 40km/h winds though...thats as fast as I ride over there, so in theory a gust of wind could stop me in my tracks (again).
Pass the pies.

And the forecast for Thursday evening is?
This weather is too good to last. If it keeps up like this everybody will know Wellington's best-kept secret and we'll have to recruit well-armed militia to keep the pricks out. Whoops: Wellington's weather is shite -- it blows like a mad bastard all the time and its always cold and poxy. You can't get a decent coffee anywhere; the bars are hopeless -- there's no Rheineck on tap; the women all look like Belarusian tractor builders; there are no good venues to watch sport; and there are no decent places to ride motorcycles. So stay where you are and leave us to our misery.

The decent places are fast becoming a bit hazardous, in more ways than one.
See you guys at the rendevous.
Thanks for posting it Madboy, I've been a bit too busy lately.

Still don't know if the bike'll be back together by then. Headlight's being couriered down tomorrow some time so I'll bung that in and reconnect the indicators and it'll be semi-ridable. Depends when it turns up and whether I find anything else dodgey with the bike once I finally ride it again.
So - maybe.

I've got a few things to sort out before PMCC this Sunday, so, unfortunately, I won't be there tonight.
Have fun and ride safe

Doesn't work, I eat a pie a day and still get blown around. Ive been seriously considering/thinking of a way that I could attach weights to my bike like under the seat, maybe getting a pack rack and loading it with bricks...
Madboy I got my bike kinda sorted yesterday and was seriously thinking of coming along tonight, wind looks like its gonna be a biarch though maybe next week.

Yeah I'm going to have to pass too. Headlight hasn't arrived yet and the hand doesn't seem to want to pull the clutch lever in properly. Argh. Next Thurs though.
Have fun!

All joking aside I think I wont enjoy riding over the windy hill tonight. Unless the wind changes for the better I might flag for this week.
Have a good one guys...

D-vice is no gutter shop...Trust you to know the correct spelling.
Excellent ride last night, fellas (and the -ess!). I got my toe sliders down (twice), now I just need to work on the knee. Although wearing cordura and not leather last night probably explains that one. Excellent decision on destination. Sadly that re-inforces my opinion of builders and smokers, both who appear to struggle with the keep left concept. Oh well...
And for those who care, I would like to confirm that both wheels were on the ground at all times, no speed limits were doubled, no vehicles were overtaken and no duct tape was used on any numberplates.
Until next week then...
