View Full Version : Jason McEwan Returns

Jason has been offered a Superbike ride in the NZ champs this year, he needs to find his own cash sponsor of $8000.00 to pay running costs. The sponsor would get naming writes to his bike! Pit passes, race bulliten updates.
Spread the word if you will, you may be the one resposible for getting him back out there?
He looks very fit and focused on life, would be fantastic to see him back at his best, or better.:blip:
I am acting on his behalf with this,so if there is any further info required please PM or email me at ttproduction1@msn.com

SWEET!
How is he feeling after that crash?
Was pretty nasty!
Would be great to see him back out there battling with the top guys.

That'd be great to see. He got pretty knocked around in that crash and I reckon he's always been one of the more talented riders around - just hasnt had the breaks go his way at times....

Fark, if I had 8k laying around I would give it to him just to see him out there doing his thing. Jason is such a talented rider and could go all the way on the world stage. All the best to him and I hope he finds some sponsors real soon.

Nice to hear. I wish him well, and hope to catch him racing at a circut near me in the very near future. Will he be at Wangas on boxing day?

Theres over 3000 KB members, $5 each would be $15K, think we could have the bike painted up black and yellow and run as Team KiwiBiker ?

What a fanfukingtastic idea! Shaun, get a bank account & post the number and lets all contribute to the Racing Jason Fund. I'll be a starter.

GAV thats a fucking brilliant idea, someone sort it out, make up a tally and probable totals of what ppl vouch to donate

$8K sounds easy enough doesnt it? Thats only $10 from 800 members, surely we could raise that? Mind you, we'll have to get Jason to sign up as a KB member!
Shaun
12th November 2005, 06:53
Team owner of bike for Jason would be more than happy to have bike all painted up in Kiwi Biker colours, in fact he said, if the money can be found for Jason, he will paint two (2) of his bikes in your colours and have two riders in the Kiwi Biker image 1x Superbike and 1x F3 ( New young rider)
Do you think this can go any where?

Dunno about the rest, but I'd be fine with making a payment towards the team, now how many more do we need to makes this work?

I have rung Jason this morning and informed him of the good will going on here, he is very gratefull to all the positive comments.
Is there some one here that would like to take control/manage this?

I think it's a great idea but we need to get the moderator (is it SpankMe?) involved and get an ad on the home page.

its gotta be a go, all it needs is a bank account we can transfer funds straight into, and bobs yer uncle, Jason could set it up himself and just stick the details on here.
Let's get him back on track!

It would be best/professional to have some one from the Kiwi Biker site as the controller of the funds that members may choose to donate purely from a buisness point of view.
Calling SpankMe, are you into this mate?

I'd been keen to through a few dollars to help him out in team kiwibiker colours. Might be a tad hard getting all of our names on the side of the bike, same for pit passes for us all!!! I think SpankMe, as owner of this fine site, should be in control of it.

Hi, 8K is running costs only for consumables product.
3K up front and the painting bill paid would gaurantee a KiwiBiker S/B on the grid for the season as well as an F3 machine with a frst time racer on board it, he is only 17.
The ballance could be paid out in monthly installments over the December/January/Febuary period
Hope this helps, and thanks for your effort.

Would be great to have Mr McEwan racing at the Wanganui street races again. Will this campain include the street races or just the nationals?
All the best with making this a happening thing.

We are yet to make a decision on that issue due to the big crash J had at Taupo 2 years ago. His leg is perfect now, but does have a lot of metal in it, having said that, Jason is more focused on racing bikes than I have ever seen him, so Probally?

I met Jason accidently in Febuary last year. I was on my way back up from the South Island after doing a tiki tour down there. I popped into a cafe, where I cant remember ?? Marton/NP area someplace. When I pulled up there was a white van with a GSXR race bike in the back... hmmm interesting i thought. Paeroa had been the previous day (which i missed damn it all) so i figured it was someone from there. Anyway I wandered over and got a coffee and smoke and sat down. This guy comes on over with a cast on his arm and asked how the TLR was going.. great i sez. He introduced himself as Jason... McEwan??? I asked, yeah thats me.
Holy crap, hows it going. He was an awesome guy, who had plenty of time to chat. Told me about Paeroa and his crash with Lance. Apparently his missus worked at this cafe. We chatted for about half an hour and I went away thinking that he was bloody great guy.
So in saying that, I dont know how viable it would be but if you (Shaun) can organise it, you never know we may just be able to swing something. Count me in as a donater.. not a lot but better than nothing.
JASON IS A REAL NICE GUY , I CHATTED WITH HIM A FEW TIMES AND HIS TEAM ONCE LENT ME A BIT FOR MY BIKE SO I COULD KEEP RACING, IF WE HAVE A WHIP AROUND ILL CHIP IN $20 WITH PLEASURE

WE need to create a list of interested members, as although there is approx. 3000 members, how many are actually still active here. I don't mind tipping in a bit more than $20, but we need some firm numbers to work out what is required. Maybe a new thread needs to be created, not in Racing though please, somewhere more general. It also needs to be stickied.

(Off topic a wee bit) There were another couple of racer's I have wondered about over the years, does anyone know what Ant Young is up to these days. He was doing really well in the 600 proddies last time I saw him then....nothing. Does anyone remember Tony MacMurdo(sp)? or know if he still rides?

To get a basic estimate of how many donations you can expect, why not start with a poll? (or has this already happened?)

No poll as yet, I am waiting for the OK to try and push this for Jason

I was wondering if any of the Auckland people had a phone number for SpankMe?
If so could you pass it on to Sean by PM or let SpamkMe know he has PMs.
Of course he may be out riding...

Other ideas: His used tyres sold/offered to KB'ers first.
His Training at KB Track/Training days as a fundraiser.
Some of us may pay for a "Scare me" pillon ride on the track with him.
