View Full Version : Me vs the Ferrari... true story - I WHIPPED HIS ASS!

There's me and him, side by side, straight road. Standing start when I though I'll have this guy.

He was with me for the first bit but as I got up to speed he slowly faded into the distance behind me. I'm lookin' for cops the whole time of course - no doubt Ferrari boy had his radar detector/jammer/cop electronics deep fryer on.

It was awesome, he's going as fast as he can, I'm doin' the same and me on the good ol' RF left him like he was standing still

ha HA!!!!!!!!! :doobey:  :doobey: :shake:

edit - The previously hidden (well... yellow) text that so many missed...

... oh yeah... did I mention it was 5:30 on NW just by Patiki ... God I love being able to split...

An RF rider told me that they were styled by the same guy. The strakes on the side of the old Mondial and your RF are do look similar (Google it) Consider yourself to be riding a 2 wheeled Ferrari then :-)

Always liked the look of the RF's. Something a bit different about them, makes them stand out. I like bikes that are unmistakeable, even by the "untrained" eye.

So Nigel, you've posted this on KiwiBiker for all to see and approve but I bet the last person to ever hear about it will be your wife:2thumbsup . I know what the reaction is if ever one of my mates let something slip about biking misbehaviour in her earshot::thud: She already thinks I have the mental makeup of a child.

On the other hand, me and my Fireblade couldn't catch up with a teenager on a souped-up Civic hatch.
When I mentioned this to my mechanic, he gave me advice that putting petrol to an empty tank could actually make a bike slightly faster.

He was on a conference call and number crunching on a calculater with the other hand,he has the automatic version with powersteering....and his sound system cost more than your bike. He's only had it up to 120kph so far...but he's cheated on his wife 4 times already this week.

Most ferrari's except the Enzo aint that quick... 0-100 in 4.5-5 seconds on average is quite a bit slower than most bikes. Even a decent 250 2 stroke will kick one in a straight drag. Plus on top of that most Ferrari owners can't drive for shit and are scared to launch hard (10,000km clutch replacements etc)

quick for a cage, though.

and I do wonder if MDU could have spanked mister ferarri driver quite so soundly in any situation putting four fat P-Zeros up against two sport-tourer rubber bands around a corner or two.

regardless, I am very pleased about this boost to MDU's ego. it was starting to fade a bit.

Bout right. Fastest 0-100 for a Ferrari I have seen is the F40 with 3.4~ which could give a squid a run for a money if they couldn't launch properly. Funnily enough the OLD F40 dragged off all the other supercars on a recent test for 0-150 or so!

I don’t understand how people can like the styling of an RF. And to be fair I own one. But that is the great thing about bikes is different people like different bikes. Unless of course they are brain impaired & like tart's handbag affairs.

What I do like is the indecently quiet way you can launch from the lights at quite a respectable clip. Love that std silencer. Makes it look like you aren’t trying.

Na - red one kinda like the one in the pic. I know the yellow one you mean though - I whipped him in similar circumstances about 2 months ago...

Funnily enough the OLD F40 dragged off all the other supercars on a recent test for 0-150 or so!the maclaren f1 lm supposedly does 0-100 in 3sec flat [versus the standard maclaren f1's 3.3] and 160kph in 6.2, thats fucken fast.....what about the caterham r500? thats the fastest cage [production cage] 0-160-0 in less than 10 seconds, good around town eh? the buggatti veyron will probably beat most normal 600's to 160, probably not the likes of a zx636 or cbr600rr though. and dont get me started with the b-engineering EDONIS......:hitcher: rant over:2thumbsup
