today during my commute to tech i had 2 incidents of danger
first, i was heading down the cycle lane at about 30kph when someone in a suit decided that getting out of the cage they were in as a passanger would be a smart plan.
consequenty this meant applying the rear brake hard whilst counter steering the bike in between the recently opened door and a parked car-I just made it, the dt 175 just squeezed in between the gap!
for a second there the thought of "f**k im going to crash" came through my head.
the second incident happened about 30 sec later down:wacko:
it involved a driver of a hiace van, light blue in colour,he proceeded to follow me by 1 m after i overtook him in the inside
the stupid DT didnt have enough power to get away from him, so i ended up pulling next to him at the lights:calm: , the van in front of him was turning, and i was in the straight through lane, the lights go green, i head off...and what does mr hiace do?...
he proceeds to rapidly change lanes whils RIGHT BESIDE me.
one again the super slow dt cant get ahead, do i have to let him in front-not nessicarily a bad thing-
as i watch from the back he proceeds to try manuvere his van like i used to ride my sj125t suzuki, but whats more important is that he had a old-er lady in the back and a baby in one of the seats.
i turned off after the next set of lights, so i lost him
when i was next to him i noticed he was wearing those fingerless gloves
he was maori, about 30-40 years old.
what should i do, is this worth reporting?:crybaby:

Did you overtake take him on the inside in another lane? Just checking as im sure if its a one lane road you wouldnt have been silly enough to go up the inside by the gutter.

Sometimes cagers do get pissed at us due to our moneouvrability( spelled wrong i know ). If he put you in danger and other motorists, you have full right to dob him in.

I dont think you should judge him based on the fact he is a maori with fingerless gloves on, that wouldnt be right.

wait till the weatherman predicts a hot day, go round to his house the night before, break into his van and tank a big dump in it, in the air vents or something

Quit riding sccoters and get a proper bike maybe? lol J/K mate. Most of that is just shit we deal with everyday. Flick them the bird and shrug it off. No point getting upset about it since you have to keep your head clear for the next idiot that tries to kill you.

Ah the old sneak in the Garage and look all innocent trick huh:doobey: I had to do that other other night, got spotted by a uniformed copper going the other way on the motorway just before i got off at papakura, he stared and flashed his red and blues, i figured he would be radioing to a collegue to come and slap me on the wrist.

My exhaust can was still hot enough to burn skin after an hour, i have a heat mark on the tip now :P

I have a slight miss at 11,500 rpm in 5th - ill have to replicate the problem to try find out what it is :)

They do that going the OTHER WAY!? I have shot past at 130+ many times before (same direction) and they just occasionally (if ever) look at me. I'm guessing radar does not work through rebar concrete barriers as well

Or were you doing the 'one wheel birdie' or something. Gotta love ripping the bird out at the speed camera vans as well :blip:

Yes, that trick...
Why do people keep using my garage for this?
Or behind the house if the garage door is down...
Car reversed out of a driveway last week, from the right side of the road across both lanes to stop in-front of me... Didn’t see me obviously, now considering I was in a CAR how blind was he?

yeah, i was in the inside lane of a 1 lane rd, where the cyclists/scooterists:nono: usually go
i had another near miss comming out of a roundabout on sat night, i almost got T boned,
comming around a roundabout (40kph) in te-rapa, some one didnt stop, it was too late to break
i just hit the powerband on the old dt and flicked it to the right, he would have missed my rear wheel by 30 cm
no sh1t
it was like that train vs charger in fast & furious 1!
he was in what appered to be a black bmw, he did not slow down, honk his horn, or anything, he just kept on going.
5 years of road riding, and thats one of the closest calls so far
thanks be to God!
im still alive:2thumbsup

Just wait till you have someone turn down the wrong side of the street in front of you.
