FINALY got it back from the paint shop (took 5weeks for the guy to paint it)

The faithful team milf ZXR has put on some sexy lingerie and showed up with this fancy number!

Should still be able to be seen in KB circles as its new owner, stocky, is a new KB member in Tauranga.

all i can say is prep prep prep... oh and prep. Get down as smooth as you can with 400 wet and dry paper. You can really tell which bits got the most attention. And also the bits he said would be filled in by the primer which werent :bash:

all the same, for 2doz heineken its not bad!

I wouldn't paint it JSG if i were you, i'd save up and apply these to your rocket launcher instead. Better safe than sorry huh  Engine protection for JSG (http://www.space.com/php/multimedia/imagedisplay/img_display.php?pic=h_armor_tps_panel_02.jpg&cap=Cross-section+of+metal+Thermal+Protection+System.+Credit %3A+NASA%2FLangley)

Nice one Gareth.. I'll have to come round and see it some time (free today?). I'm still deciding weather to go original colour scheme or black....

400 is a bit harsh, try 800 then 1200 to get it smooooth, like glass...
I'll have to paint my one now after my little off!

Yer I agree but 1200 its maby a bit over board. A guy I know who paints high end cars uses this 3m stuff its a bit like foam...

dude if you got back to 1200 you'd have to hope like hell the primer sticks coz thats bloody smooth. You rub it down with 400 to get out the scratches etc and you can actually get it reasonably smooth with that, the 800 is good for final rub down before painting but normally a good 2 pack paint will get a good finish on a surface done well with 400 wet and dry.

JSG, at first the guy was all sweet bout doing it, then he saw how much there was! They are busy anyway, the reason it took 5weeks is because he had to fit it in around other work.

Sounds to much like work...
I wonder what the panel beater we use at work drinks?

No worries - I'll 400 it then...... stil busy with 120 at the mo - but will get there. I just want it more or less presentable - not looking at winning any show and shine competitions.

AND TRISTANK - PLEASE STICK TO YOUR ORIGINIAL PLANS - I'M GOING MATT BLACK.
