Sorry dude, I have some bad news.

I rang every soddin motel last week & they are all booked. Ended up with a tent site & was lucky to get that. Have to take the van so we can sleep in that.

Combination of Christmas, the racing, & Jimmy Barnes concert after.
PS: tickets for both $75 from Ticketek. Ok so he's an old git but maybe he'll play enough Chisel stuff to make it worthwhile.

Anyhoo I'll be there. Only missed it once in oh, um, 24 yrs, eek! Try to remember to wear a KB shirt.

[edit] oh, you have a motel room? Utter barstewards! Erm. . . What room number was that? No reason.

The track is waaay too big + they have enough classes as it is. The 125s can run in with F3.

would be fun tho, I would be a bit anxious wanting to run a 125 round there actually so light and so much power high side over the rail way tracks Buckets would be fun as around there just dont run as much time I mean at the rate we are going all our bucket racing in Wellington is going to be dead we need something to do

I have to ride a bit like a Nana ($1.10?) as im still on my learners so I tend to have a limited number of people to ride with (and a limited top-speed anyway). The ones that do are fun to ride with anyway. Should be able to arrange something though. Maybe Ill leave earlier or something :).

Racing starts at 11, practice at 7:45am. Noob's like myself get 4 laps before everyone else - yippee.

I always watched from about 9'ish for memory and thats plenty to set up camp somewhere.

Everywhere is good, start/finish line is a barstard to get good view though.

Sounds like there will be plenty of kb'ers down there. Sent my entry form away last week so will be racing in F3 on my 125 if all goes according to plan, number 14. Come and say hi, most likely be in a close proximity to kickaha and/or dangerous (sadly) for some of the day so come and say hi.

Hey.... watch it you, we just might get there yet... that shonky bike  has only shit its self twice in the last week, so prepare the arse for a ride in style..... and wear decent boots as you may be required to push, hell its got a massive 2700km on it now anything could happen.

We're riding to Morrinsville on the 24th, and back down to Wanganui on Christmas Day to get there in time for scrutineering (I think it starts @ 2.00pm).

We normally spend most of the day watching from the esses, though last year with the pits being in a different place we spent a lot of time on the start/finish straight - I believe they've got a grandstand there this year, haven't decided whether or not to get tickets for that.

We've got a motel - we book in each year for the following year. No spare beds sorry.

Will no doubt catch Kickaha et al at scrutineering.

Gateway Motel...now that brings back the memories......we once (about 1983?) booked a room for the day - a vanload of us drove up and watched the Aussie Six Hour there (it was shown live on Aussie TV, and Gateway was one of the few motels that had a satellite dish back in those days). It was great - a local Wanganui lad named Richard Scott won, so we all piled around to his Mum's place to tell her.

well the bikes are getting the final pre trip prep done by Dangerous ...and you all can probably tell how long THAT will take :msn-wink:
Joni is practicing how to be a pillion and Dangerous is practicing how not to do wheelies and stuff with a pillion on the back.... well actually the Guzzi "doesn't do wheelies" hense the reason he had to do a few on the Buell over the course of the past weekend. At least he didn't do any with the pillion on this time eh Dangerous?? Only with my dad watching... I'm sure he doesn't really think you are that dangerous a rider now huh?

So yup we'll be on the road sometime on Saturday when people decide exactly what time to start this little escapade off.. on to Blenheim for the night then across on the ferry on xmas day to maybe get a piece of xmas cake from some mates just outa wgtn. Then to Wanganui for the night, all ready to grab the best spot on Boxing day for the races.
So who else is up for it?? What stragglers can we pick up along the way? Or where shall we make a meeting spot in wanga? Bear in mind we are just poor southern folk and may need some guidance by the locals to the best meeting point and booze stops... along with a map in at least 3 different languages (nth island, sth island and Dangerouseeze) with BIG red marks to point out the important spots...just so we dont get lost :devil2:

Hey look what I found out.... Guzzi's CAN do wheelies, I just have to work on them a bit more (see pic)

I dont get lost I always know exactly were I am...... not were I should be :spudflip:
