oh. $1600 to fix so you say? bigend failure you say? oh i see. well ahh thanks ill get back to you.

here are my options:
get it repaired (save some money but getting parts elsewhere)
offer it to colemans to cover costs of looking at it ($80)
get it off colemans. put it back together as best I can and sell it on trademe (maybe get a couple hundy?)
buy another engine and get it installed (maybe $500 all up)

im liking option 3 at this stage but need some opinions.

500 bucks for an engine? pfft.. i got a gsxr250 engine for 350.. k, you get what you pay for, but a single cylinder shouldn't be that much..
could rebore it to 175cc. and an engine swap is easy too

yeah I could get parts through him. already got a piston etc. but id probably still be looking at near the $1000 mark I figure. (note, got piston for $65 odd which saved me $300 to get it from colemans)\

It might, but I havn't ever seen a RG150 engine for sale by its self..

They always seem to have wheels and fuel tanks and stuff too

I'm not sure if a RG engine would go into a RGV frame. with the whole water cooling thing going on

wack a MX 125cc engine in it and get it modified to run lights, they used to convert XM bikes for the road over in AUST, dunno if they still do. I could imagine that the bike would go quite fast then and MX engines are easier to get hold of.
