I have a KLX300 2002 bike, the "last" model with crook idler gear
I didn't get around checking it until if failed, causing the output shaft to break as well.
Motor stripped down for repairs, and discovered scouring of hard plating of cylinder wall
It was starting to burn a bit of oil but didn't think it was that bad ...
What do the readers think are realistic options out there as I now looking at $23-2400 to fix.
Can these motors be sleeved? Some web sites appear to say yes, other no
2nd hand engine to just get going?
rebuild to 298cc - stock
big bore kit? since I am already doing some major items & $
