Judging by the <a href="/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=150">T-Shirt thread</a>, there are some talented members in the Kiwi Biker forums who know how to create good graphics. Personally I have no artistic talent.

I would like to ask for help with the graphics and design for this site. The current default colour scheme and graphics template wont work when the new version of <a href="http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/">vBulletin</a> comes out, so I need to start looking at designing a new one. Maybe something based on the T-Shirt logo.

The current style is a bit to busy, the <a href="showthread.php?s=&postid=1428&styleid=5">default style</a> has a more simple layout and I will be reverting back to that when the new version comes out.

It's a shame the current theme won't work on the new vbb, it's really sleek. Still, all that'd be needed to make the default look good would be to change the color scheme, & replace the kiwibiker logo in the top corner, perhaps with the t-shirt logo or something similar. All the other vbb boards I've seen use the default graphic scheme, with variations on the color & title graphics, & that's about it. They all look really proffesional, however, despite, or perhaps because of being so simple.

For an example, another forum I post on, the DoDHQ boards - http://forums.dodhq.net - simple but effective. I've done a few graphics for them in the past, & I don't mind doing some for this site either, as long as you tell me what you need, pixel dimensions, etc.

I'll try the current template on the new version and see what happens.

I think I will wait untill vB3 comes out before doing anything. Whats your html like <img src="/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif">

Hey, Just a note on how the site works for me. It seem not set up for my screen 800 by 600 well. I have to scoll sideways a few cm to read each page of posts. Just a small frustration when it doesn't have to be that way.
Also would be interesting to be able to list the members by area, so I could see those closest to me. :done:

Didn't think anyone still used 800x600. Have you tried to see if your PC can handle a higher res. I havn't checked everything, but I think the site is viewable ok in 1024x768. I sometimes forget about people using smaller res :o since both my home and work pc are 1600x1200 and everyone else I know uses the same or higher.

SM - how about some of those stick on transfery things, to the same design as the T shirt logo? To stick on van windows&nbsp; etc.....

I was thinking the same thing! Something that we could stick on our bikes to help us identify each other at track days. :wavey:

Got enough to think about without trying to read the stickers on the bikes I'm passing on the track:D

Oh you meant when we're parked up popped eyeballs and adrenalin powered mouth telling everyone who'll listen about your 'moment' out on track. LOL

MY MOMENT!? Don't you mean YOUR moment?!:shit:

Anyway, isn't that the best way to get TV coverage, (and hence sponsorship), By haveing regular "Moments" out on the Track?!

I can hear the announcer now..

Here comes that chap (or Chap'ess) again. Let see how he handles that corner this time! :roadkill:

There you go KK, ther's your sponsorship idea!:niceone:

ahhh funny people... I like this site :)

can't say I know much about web design. My only issue with the site so far is that its very hard to read the subject headers on forum posts being black on grey

small stickers would be good.

It's not a bad design, the only gripe I have, is the lack of links back to the main site from the Gallery.

But yeah, maybe the site is a bit black and maybe a bit too bulky.

The site will be getting a large upgrade and re-design when vBulletin 3.0 comes out. The upgrade is going to take a lot of work to re-script all the changes I've made in this version into the new one, so I'm not very enthusiastic about making many changes until then.

I think a sticker of the same design as wots on the t-shirts is a good idea. Something not too big to put on the side of the tank or fairing to show we belong to this Kiwibiker site.

A sticker would be a good idea but I don't know about putting it on my bike.

What I would like is a logo sticker that would resist any attempts to remove it and would stick to anything during all types of weather that we could put on petrol station pumps, bike parks and any popular bike stops.
