You might want to rethink your meeting place. The garden show is on there this weekend.

Yep - you don't want a whole lot of nana's with zimmerframes and walking sticks chasing away you bad biker types from their beloved Ellerslie Flower Show.

Not only is there the Bikini Bike wash on at Mt Eden's bike shop..
There is also StrayJuliet and Wolf's BBQ at there house in Hamilton as well....
Why not go to the Bike wash for a quick lookie and then all ride on down to Hamilton to the BBQ and then have a fun ride back up again...
Just a thought and idea...

Hey Felix,
I'm in for a cruz. That seems a good length of ride too. IF you want to change the meeting place/time I'm flexible.
Good wheelie practice zone around Miranda.

the bike wash is 9-5, so plenty of time to get a wash in.
I was arranging a smaller ride the same way, might as well just join this.
What about meet at Mission bay around 9ish or so, then cruse round the coast that way to the roads..?
I'm also not one for a cruse, but happy to 'reflect' on my ways..

You know you guys could always do 22 down and get to the end of it at about 11 then head just a little bit farther down the road for a feed. Then back up 22 afterwards or some could head to Rags for a quik look at the beach and the chicks in bikinis there.:blip:

22 is crap at the moment. I don't think it'd be that good until the summer has dried the road out for a month or so..

main drag and averill Road. It's a T junction with lights, and there's a bus stop/pick up point on the other side of the lights (you'll know when you see it), plus a few bikes to give it away..

There's a nice bakery there run by this Chinese family. I usually stop in there on my way to work to get a sandwich or two.

Good weather for it. Not the best roads for my bike as they are often kinda twisty.
Felix cheers for letting me ride your bike, that bike has great potential.
Some of those chicks at the bikini wash were hot. One bizarrely looked 5 months pregnant, WTF!
My bike is proving hard to do extended wheelies, about 350 kg with pilot, on a 170 rear, so I must practice more.

Thanks for the ride Felix. 'Twas most enjoyable!
Great to meet you at last MV Senna!
And as for the 51/2 months pregnant chick at the bike wash, I think that is a normal size for chicks in bikinis these days isn't it? Didn't you know they've changed dress sizes to match our growing waistlines. She's still only a size 8.
Besides - she cleaned my bike ok so I'm not complaining...
Well, ok, I'm just complaining a little bit 'cause I thought there'd be some guys in speedos to clean my bike...

Thanks for organising the ride Felix. Great weather, and nice roads, not too many cars, good fish n chips too, and the show and photo session after lunch was quite cool too Swanman!!
Almost got crunched on the way home after splitting with you guys. I was third in line taking off from a set of lights, and the car at the front brakes suddenly to avoid BALLOONS. Everyone slows except the guy behind me. And all just to avoid hitting BALLOONS??? Still blaming the lady up front rather than the guy behind. Also got me thinking this wouldn't have happened if I'd filtered to the front!!
Thanks too for showing me the "lines". When I started riding I thought that roads would seem so wide, cos bikes are so narrow compared to cars, but really I guess there is so much less margin for error or the unexpected, that you really can't use all the road like you can on four wheels.

19th November 2005, 18:53
cheers for joining guys. Towards the end of the ride I showed the guys a back road way to bombay... nice and twisty and like a roller coaster :)
Hopefully see you guys soon for a Longerrrrr ride.
Sorry about the slow pace from Mission bay to east auckland.... I didn't want to loose anyone if I started filtering
Swanny... CB900 + Pipe + Great suspension Fr/Rear + Screen + Flatter bars + Power commander + steering damper... now that would be too much fun....
Leong... interesting about what you said about the lines... made me think...I no longer think of that anymore but yes I am a cautios rider but I do like to keep it nice and flowing....
And about the cage incident... they say always have a planned escape route.. I generally get unconfitable if there is no escape routes...
Photos will be up tonight / tomorrow... haven't a SD card reader at home and cable for camera is at work.

That road to Bombay was great, and smooth too. I enjoyed following yr lines, at a distance I was comfortable with... didn't want to get sucked into entering a turn at a pace I couldn't handle!! Thanks again, that was the most fun part of the ride fior me. :2thumbsup Going riding with a friend early tomorrow, will probably do the same route again. ( hadn't been on the Kaiaua coast road - Mangatangi road before either )
And the cage incident.... I stopped to the left of the cage in front, must be yrs of defensive driving. Still no fun hearing screeching from behind tho:bash:

Mission Bay is like, the smallest area in Auckland. You will not miss a bunch of raggy bikers early in the morning. Usually there are only morning runners, dog walkers and cyclist having breakfast that early. We will surely disturb the piece with our loud aftermarket cans. :2thumbsup

Cheers for the ride.... was a bit of fun. Sorry we had to turn back early but wanted to stop in at mt eden before 21st gift shopping.
Good paced and the weather was great. Sorry i took off from the bp (with a raggedy bunch) but the bike was getting to like 110deg So i needed to get some wind into the radiator...

Poor dear, all she had to do was approach us nicely and mention that she'd prefer us not to park on the footpath...

Well... it is the culture of the place that decides that...
In Melbourne, you can walk into nice office buildings and have bikes all lined up and parked in the lobby. :2thumbsup
Maybe next time we can angle all our bikes nicely.. (guess she was scared of leather clad bikers... and rightly so  )
