Its Blue, its pretty, and it goes like, like, it just freaking goes! I LOVE MY NEW BIKE. TL Rider got home about 10pm on Thursday night. I wasnt on this site that night, instead went into a house cleaning frenzy till I heard it pull into our driveway. So, at 11pm that night we are sitting on our front deck and Im revving it up for all the neighbours to hear, hehehehehe!! Yesterday at work was torture as I waited desparately for 5pm to arrive, only to get to my car and some USELESS F*#KING BITCH HAD BLOCKED ME IN! After a quick verbal cat fight with said useless bitch ( won of course) I finally got to come home. TL Riders slave son was busy ragging down both our beauties, then finally we were off. Had to go to town for milk twice last night, visit at least three different friends, and generally ride around town in the double lanes side by side. Oh they do look fantastic together. But what a bike. Dont get me wrong, still love the Dukes, BUT, OMG, this bike is something else. I love the way it corners, the power is outstanding, the seating position really suites and it seems to be a little lower than the '97 TL, cause I can put my feet flat on the ground with this one but not with TL Riders bike. Today will be a REAL ride Im so looking forward to. Just waiting for the clock to catch up to the meeting time so we can get out there and do what we do best, ride georgous motorbikes.

We'll stop at the matching bikes I think, some things can be taken too far.
UPDATE!What a day we had yesterday. 10 Bikes met in town at 10.30am from a quick ring around during the week, on a bright and sunny day. I was thrilled there was another lady to ride with and the mix of bikes in all was awesome to see. We headed north minding a busy Saturday morning around town and sticking strickly to the speed limits until we pulled off SH1 and immediately hit the winding roads out to the east coast, destination Oakura Bay. Picked up a Harley there making 11 bikes in total!! What a sight. North bound we continued and I really started to play with my new bike. I was definately in the right frame of mind on the day to put in a good effort, so I gently started to find out just what TL could do. Conclusion? Far more than Im capable of thats for sure. I was so relaxed on it, physically big compared to the Duke, definately. But so solid on the road, the handling superb, the power, endless (to me anyway), braking felt comfortable and the gear changing much more subtle. We got into some serious winding coastal roads and the boys were really working their bikes out. It was incredible to watch. Just before Russell my clutch suddenly gave out so I gently pulled up and waited for the bunch, fortunately we had recently stopped and I had gotten a head start and ridden ahead. With a couple of McGyvers in the crew the problem was soon sorted and Russell was our next stop for lunch and refreshments. Original plan from here was ferry to Opua then home, but then we got to thinking. Hmmmmmm. The forest? Anyone? Yep so we're off. Down to 7 bikes now but still a good bunch. Riderinblack (McGyver senior) had a handy map on board and worked out a route over to Kaikohe through some more interesting off the main trunk roads. Kaikohe to Omapere then through the Forest, Dargaville and home. It was getting long in the day by now, people had committments so the others went on while we hung back in Omapere and caught up with some friend. Just as TL Rider and I got through the forest his fuel light came on, must have ridden that last stint particularly hard, and we had 40kms to go to the next petrol station. Down to serious economy riding, but we made it, the last two Ks TL Rider couldnt even lean the bike it was down to the very last drop. 400ks later and 10pm that night we found ourselves sitting at McDonalds, too tired to eat, reflecting on a memorable day.:2thumbsup

Oh yes. I must admit I did squrt up to 220ks at one stage, and plenty left to go. She just cruises so happily, the toque of the engine makes it very forgiving if caught in the wrong gear, but I do have to watch the speed sneak away on me, it simply doesnt feel as fast as what the clock says. TL Rider has given me some very handy tips of how to ride this particular bike, and it works a treat. I just had a great first time out experience on it, making this bike a long term keeper. Thanks Sarge for a great purchase.

TL's are the shit alright, glad to hear your loving it, but WTF you still got standard pipes on it, what are you thing girl, do know of an easy mod to do to your stockers to make em loud if you cash is too tight for new a/m pipes, a TL with stock pipes is just criminal, like a restricted air compressor and if i see you anytime soon with stock stock pipes on, me and the boyz will be wanting a chat.

I agree, but, well, Ive got the bike at least, thats the first thing. Blame the previous two owners, between them they've had 30,000ks to sort aftermarket pipes. Cash is very tight and changing bikes came at a cost. Must increase my monthly bike allowance, now, what else can I sell that =s $$ redirected into the bike? Gees, Im getting as bad as you boys. At least Ive got my priorities, even if my mother doesnt think so. Yes pipes are on the list of to do's, along with various other mods and blingage required. All in good time. The monthly requests for payrises arent working. But I own one, and a damn fine specimen she be, I'm more than happy with that for now.

Gota agree with loose. I didn't have an extra grand for AM pippes but didn't have my VTR for more than 2 days B4 I searched the net, found the mod, ripped the guts out of the cans, made 3 different sets of spud inserts, Cause the ones they made on the net sounded like rubbish, b4 settling on the final deep sound. They look the part and nothing sounds like a twin, VTR or TL, not even a Hardly. They got to be heard.

Got pics of the process but the TL cans are probably different.

Enjoy your new toy looks good.

oh! by the way if you muck about with the cans you have to get the shop the retune for less back pressure. Not a biggie but necessary.
