Just thought I'd step over the pond to see what our Kiwi cousins are up to and must say I'm impressed. Great forum with so many different bikes unlike most OZ sites that tend to be very bike specific.
Been many years since I've had "L" plates, a novelty I don't think I want to get used to.
Was out of bikes for many years for no great reason that I can remember and thought what the heck and bought an xj900. Brought back so many memories that the Ha Ha got traded for the Bird and now I've got a helmet full of grey hair and a fixed grin that I hope never leaves my face.
I've been busy sending letters to Honda, Santa, The Easter Bunny etc so I can say with authority that the new Bird when it finally gets here will be the way to go.
Just returned from a 4000 k ride Bris to Sydney return with my brother on a cbx and the pick shows Oz isn't entirely a flat desert.
Seems like the cbx has drawn some interest. It's a 1000z 1979 and my brother also has an 80 model. The pipes cost him an arm and a leg but they sound great. Here's some more pics and one from my last BB ride.
