View Full Version : Mini Chopper outruns the Police

I was just travelling along Great South Road, near Manurewa and saw a Mini chopper (toy) going like a bat out of hell along the footpath. A cop car was travelling the other way, did a u-turn light flashing the whole deal. I thought nothing of it. Went to the bank did my thing and expected to see the cop writing out a ticket on my way back. I was only in the bank for two minutes.

On my way back didn't see no cop car, went to the lotto shop and on the way out I saw the bike pulling out of a side street. The rider looking everywhere. I guess he did a runner. He wins this time.

The bike had no number plate. The rider was wearing jeans, singlet shirt and one of those german styled helmets.:bash:

Pretty ballsy but I guess it still gives bikers a bad name.

Hahaha, the cops will never let that down. Beaten by a retard on a minibike. Although, they might not have even been after him, he may have just been spooked.

I've said it before and i'll say it again the typical minichopper rider has the riding skills of a lobotimised monkey and the road sense of a possum. This case just highlights the inefficiencies of the police unfortunately.

Two sides to every story guys. He may not have done a runner. Just got spooked by the cops going to a call out and thought they were after him.

AMEN a majority of mini chopper riders are fucktards riding 110cc bikes on a moped license, screwing with the loopholes in the law and giving real bikers a bad name, i have this guy who lives down the road, who tear's up and down the street all night and turn's around outside my house (tis a reasonably busy street) I rang the cops after a few weeks of him driving me insane, they couldnt do jack unless i knew where he lived, so next time i will be ready for him with a 450fps paintball gun, when i hear him on his first lap i will go hide in the bushes and shoot the prick in his helmetless head !! SCREW YOU

on the other hand i know a couple of guys who have legal mini choppers and ride them responsibly, the prospect of them moving to a real bike is quite high

I still think the coppers need to crackdown on these fools before they push ACC levi's and screw the law tighter for the rest of us

Haha, I saw some fool try to do a runner from the cops on one of those minichoppers a couple of months ago. Was sitting outside a pub on Pakaranga road. He came down the hill in the left lane and a cop passed him heading the other way. Cop did a U turn with lights and siren going and this idiot tried to duck into Highland park. Didn't get far tho.... finished my beer and walked back to my bike to see the cop had him outside the movie theatre. Couldn't stop laughing as I rode past, bet the cop was laughing too...... what a dick.

Hey lets not blame everything on White Trash... the poor lad.

We got one that rides around the Glendene area a lot at night time as well...
Push bike light and it has no lights at all on the back at all.
Has a illegal rego plate on the back.

So gawd help him when someone hits him from the rear...
"oh but I never saw him"

BAN them I say.... they are so damned dangerous.

Well if you would like to show me how to chase a machine that can quite easily out run me in traffic as it can fit between traffic, between buildings and under trucks then your more than welcome to come to auckland central and instruct me when im out;

Get your boss to provide you with a full Police replica mini moto. (seen the latest Ghost Rider ?)

DEATH TO MINICHOPPERS

they need to crack down on the Fob's who sell them, knowingly that the will be used illegally on the road, and wont be registered

a majority of them are 110cc which breaks the 50cc/2kw moped law
they are tricky tho (as they come from the land of the counterfeit, China) and they have 49cc on the casting

That got me thinking. If a squad car is on its way to a crime in progress (for example) and it catches a person speeding on the radar, does the quota take priority?

The Honda Dream 50R that I intend to buy (at some time) will be registered as a moped... damn sight cooler than a mini chopper (all that says to me is "oooh I watch too much bad TV and have no critical faculties")

the dream 50 makes a staggering 7PS.

I should clarify..When I mean ballsy, I was thinking more about the fact that he was doing a runner. I would never do that, so you can call me a pussy. I didn't really take into consideration anyone getting run down or run into by the idiot.
So maybe ballsy wasn't a good call.

I suppose these 'toys' have a right to be ridden, but not on public roads or footpaths, they are too low and don't have safe vision ahead when behind other larger motor vehicles...the law is an ass.

I'll second that.

The guys who ride these things will probably ultimately get heat focussed on us, but there are already too many people who get agitated as soon as someone starts having fun.

It's not as if you could trust the politicians to make a law that differentiated between mini bikes and normal bikes.

We have more than enough laws now thanks.

Noticed that the minichopper rider in my neighborhood lost yet another of his few brain cells the other day. Still wearing the usuall t-shirt, shorts and jandals but this time he was missing the bicycle helmet he usually wears.

Nothing to do with this thread really other than he is on a mini chopper and I didn't think it deserved it's own thread.

Don't have to own a bike currently to be welcome on the site. Mr Spudchucka is a biker in good standing from way back, once a biker always a biker, the present temporary bike shortage is just one of those things we all go through on life's journey.
