Went down to Auckland engineers supplies and got some rubber grommets to fit in the windscreen holes and removed the hand guards.
I like the motard-ish look. I also like the bike better without the screen - i'll stick it back on for a tour maybe, but round town I much prefer sans.

and the next couple of pages are around the city too.

Got a nice shot out in Woodhill forest after an editorial meeting at KR this afternoon too.

Dig this bike!

I believe they are $140 as a Buell spare part. Call Wellington Motorcycles.

They list the grille thing as a spare part for the other XB models too.

Thats kinda what Ive been looking for but not suitable as they are foglights? I could be wrong.
Ive been talking to WMC and I can get the bulb/lenses out of a firebolt (XB9R/12R) for $85 a unit.
Sorry BD, thread hijack.

sorry BD for jacking the thread :blip:

anyway... they come as Halogen Low beam / Halogen Fog lamp / HID Highbeams. I suppose you can get 2 x low beam units and angle one higher and just wire it for high beam operation.

I am going to be getting 2 of them soon.

The R is undoubtedly more sexier, but the X is more practicaller, particularly for a Tall Fat Bastard like Mr C. So there's not a lot of point trying to make an wide-bar 12R clone.

It's just that sticky-out front fenders are naff. The new Duc gets it wrong, too.

[Edit: Can we go back to the 'Oh Yeah' avatar? I consider it superior to the 'Get Naked' one.]

Practicality? Pah, I'll throw it out the window as soon as c'est le possible.

Agreed on the fender though, it's too... duck like. And don't get me started on the new Ducatis (999, 749). They are the epitome of Ducatisti-Wankery. If a jap brand made a bike that looked like that everyone would be lolling themselves to a painfull death. But because it has that all important sticker on the side it's suddenly considered "zomgtehbset".

Bring back the ol' 916 style (drool)

As I understand it, HID are illegal unless factory fitted.
One of the staff here has fitted dual Buell headlights to his SV650, very cool.

You're not the Big Dave that lost 50kg on the cover of some women's magazine I saw whilst sitting waiting for my takeaways last night, are you?
