Go to edit and tick the box - delete this message.

Only senior members can delete their posts, and then only up to one week after posting it.

If you deleted a post by mistake, you can ask a admin or mod to undelete it.

Right.

You edited a post of mine and stripped out 99% of the stuff I'd typed.

Not vital to get it back or anything, it's just that what is left is a little pointless.

I sometimes remove unnecessary quote text, but I've never removed a users own text from a their post.

Due to my own silliness my text was within the "unnecessary quote text".
