Hi folks I have been reading the post here of a week or so now and thought it was time I said hello I just got my self a new Suzuki Gn 250 after sweet talking the wife for ages you know how much we would save on gas kinda thing :msn-wink: I used to ride a Yamaha RD 250 many years ago back home and you know folk I forgot how much fun it is.
Anyways I have a question for you true bikers unlike myself and its is My Rd was second hand and well run in and I find the CN front disk is not very good I was told the disk and pads would need to bed in before they had much stoppingng power is this true ? the RD would brake hard with two fingers the CN I can do a full fist before I get any stoping power ! any help would be great folk and once again thanks for the cool post and info here
Regards Cobalt ( Peter )

Welcome to K.B, Peter.:wavey: Can't help with the braking question, as I've never owned one. Plenty of people here do tho, so you should get an answer.

Glad to see you here Cobalt!
as for the brakes issue, cant help much, but wouldn't surprise me of they weren't great, not known as a great stopping bike.
So now that you are here, you should come along for the Arthurs pass ride on sunday  see here for info

Welcome to the site. With regard to the GN I have just recently traded my 04 GN and if anything it had an extremely grabby front end. One finger gently squeezing would do the trick at any speed. If not, maybe the brakes need looking at- slipup at the factory, might need bleeding? Hope this helps, and if not, theres far wiser heads than mine in here-PM Frosty for a starter

What Storm said about the brakes, you shouldn't have to full-fist the front lever. It's a new bike, take it back to the shop and tell them to fix it. Swot warranties are for, innit.

Welcome to the site and the madness that is KB, I would give the bike about 20 hours of gentle riding, if the brakes are not perfect I would take it back for fixing. They should stop quite well but not a patch on the old RD's, they were awesome.
