Hello people, the rider hurt this evening on the south bound on ramp wiri/.manakau is a good friend of mine, he is not a kber , but is a fellow rider, a brother firefighter and a bloody good bloke.

I spoke with one of the HP officers at the hospital, it would seem that my mate was involved in an accident with a car which may have knocked him off the bike after which he was hit/dragged by a truck for some distance.

He is in the Intensive care unit at Middelmore with multiple trauma injuries, and has been placed in a drug induced coma.

Thank you for your thoughts, Prayers and the many txts.

I will update when more information becomes available.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken this fellows wife is a teacher at a smallish south Auckland school, and teaches my daughter. Lovely lass, and from what I could see at the school trip to the beach last week is bearing up remarkably well. I didn't get a chance to talk to her about her husband, (or anything else, controlling 50+ 6 and 7 yr olds is a full time job!), but I do wish her and her husband the very best.

Havent been on KB for a while and just caught up with the news. I was so relieved when I got to the bit where he was stable and out of surgery.
