A 1933 Matchless 592cc Silver Hawk that belonged to “Great Escape” star Steve McQueen sold for US$47,000 at auction – almost doubling the estimate.

The Silver Hawk was only produced for four years from 1931. McQueen, the star of films such as The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, The Thomas Crown Affair and Papillon, died in 1980 at the age of 50.

Hmmm,I don't think McQueen is famous for riding around on his Matchless Silver Hawk...just one of his collection I'd say.
