Well just got back from riding the hill road. They are resealing the road from about halfway up the Wellington side to the summit walkway just before the top. :argh:

Basically the last two passing lanes near the top.

Had stones stuck to my tyres made handling not nice at all, thought that I had knobblies on!!

I know, but they are resealing over that attempt as it had lifted in places.

You are kidding me - truly??? That has to take the cake.......

And the coming weather will help it no end as well. Why do they persist in trying to maintain that goat track? Going up there the other day - I nearly got cleaned up by a Freightliner Argosy coming the other way who didn't have a shit show of staying in his lane. Had I been a biker - it would have been all over red rover. And I mean I was like 3 feet in side the centre line in my lane.

And of course - straightening the Kaitokes will help no end as well - just pushes the bottle neck to the bottom of the hill where everyone will get impatient

You looking at trading the FZ in yet? Must be well over 50,000 clicks by now

There was big empty lines where traffice had worn away the seal and it was down to the tar. From the second attempt they seem to be laying down the bare minimum of seal. I can just imagine next summer going through this patch on a hot day with the tar melting and the seal slipping away from under the tyres.

The FZ1 has clicked over 53,000km will keep it until it rots or the injected model comes out.

Nothing quite like Tranzit doing the stellar effort. Can't blame it on the contractors as at the end of the day - they are only paid soo much.

Fact of the matter is - they didn't even scrape the surface and resurface the road to smooth it out. They just laid the new seal straight over the top - EXCELLENT.

Bugger eh? I shall check out these heinous delights as soon as it stops raining... (If it stops raining...)

I thought about taking the new front tyre to the top of the 'takas last night. It was dead calm but it was getting late and the weather was looking a bit ominous...

Wouldn't it make more sense to take the whole bike? It would be more fun

But the rest of the bike has been there before already...
