I can never get past what to put on one, especially with bikes only allowed 5 letters. Im thinking TLGRL. What did you have put on yours? And has anyone had any luck making money on the ones they've owned and tried to onsell?

There is a red Triumph running around Tauranga with "HRBYK" as the plate -Her Bike I would guess is the translation.

I thought about a plate a while back, really wanted "PIG B8" but someone prolly has that, and plus i found having no plate at all had the same effect, so i saved myself $500 odd bucks, nice.

The thing i dont get is a bike gets 1 plate, yet costs you the same as a car that gets 2, hmm go figure.

Is it possible to take my standard plate and register it to my next bike? What Im thinking of doing is buying a newer bike (for the road) and stripping my little rat for the track and/or practising stunting, but I want to keep my rego, cos it suits me.

why do we have the most expensive shit internet in the OECD? Why when the price of oil goes up in $US per barrel and the kiwi $ stregthens against the US dollar do will still get increases in the price of our petrol??

*cough* monopoly *cough*

When I got the one for the SS I phoned in and asked if it was available and when the woman said $375.00 I said no thanks it not worth that much they dropped the price to $250.00 without even a quibble.

Hmm... If only I was planning on keeping my bike a little longer.

Found a really sweet plate, not sure whether I want to buy it or not as I might be shifting my bike soon to upgrade.

Hmm... decisions decisions...

How fitting. It's not funny though? I thought as an *artiste* you might be a tad more imaginative? :spudbn:

Imagination is only good in design when the blindingly obvious is unavailable.

I don't believe you can do any better than the model designation on the plate.

My concerns were always that it might make it easier for the hwy patrol or some *555 dickwit to remember, but I've slowed down a lot lately and this bike doesn't do 'draw big heat' speeds anyway.

So yeah, it's me.

Sorry - i'm not the best person to ask about that - I can tell you waht the Oz rules are - someone who knows please?.....

The other option is get a plate that applies to you and take it with you when you change bikes. - Your new plate would look out of place on a Gold Wing or Beemer (for example).

Now he tells me! - they wanted me to have spaces between the X's - and I said no - not happy with that - and they said OK we won't.

I'll try 'quibbling' next.

Perspective innit - I don't see it as about me (there's a turn up!) - it's about the bike and optimum utilisation.

It's have the gov't tell people what your bike is.

Actually meant the comment for Weasel (thinking of changing bikes soon) but still $500 odd bucks is a reasonable splash of "fun" money for a plate you'll want to pass on with the bike ...

Well I've not really got $500 to kill just for a plate at the moment anyways.

But ZX4R is up for grabs on that plates.co.nz at the moment, should be legal for a bike even thou it is only 4 characters.

I think the first personalised plate I got was about $300 but when I went to buy one for the Goose, it cost me $531! Nearly shite myself when I realised how much they were now, but I really wanted it so I paid up and shut up!

I've been trying to sell the BMWCS plate for close to a year now, but no takers. One woman who had just bought a 2005 model asked how much I wanted for it (this was before I found out how much they were asking for them now) and when I said about $500, she said she wasn't prepared to pay that much! If it was still available and she wanted it, she'd have no choice, and she ain't getting mine for less than that. I tried advertising it (even approached the BMW car dealers in case a CS car owner was interested) but no luck. I'll probably end up selling it with the bike.

I don't believe you can do any better than the model designation on the plate.Sure, but the problem is that you can't use it on future bikes unless you buy the same model bike. Maybe you intend on trying to sell the plate for a profit at some stage, advertise it on TradeMe?

So a pers. plate name that you can transfer from one bike to the next is a great idea IMO, something like 'WHY Q' Nhuan's plate is a good one that can apply to any bike, 'cept Ixions maybee?!

I wanna get one, but too broke at present ...mostly to stop all the confusion that seems to arise in the carparks when all the blokes find out that its a chick on the Buell....that look of "Whaaaaat???"

TonyB picked it out for me and all ...but cant tell ya just incase someone decides to pinch it first :nono:

Bit expensive for me and that's not the only downside. The plate numbers are too easily remembered.

But if I was to go for one STHL GOOSING. Too many letters but it's the only plate for a Guzzi.

The other one I like is FUKU2. That's as in the finger sign and not the band.

Na I like OMGWTFBBQ's one better, it has the "cages" sound to it when you say it, "K...JS", like that. Your's comes out more like "cag...suck" Skyboatthemeparkride.

I can't believe 2STRK is still available. Probably because not many respectable fellows ride 2 strokers on the road, and if they do they've stockpiled all variations on the NSR.

Someone buy me 2STRK for xmas aye. Cheers.

I just heard an advert for privateplates on the Rock and it was fuckin priceless.

Some bird was harping on about her V8 with the private plate " I GUZL" and beneath it was written "The price you pay for a V8"

Now is it just my filthy little mind or can that be taken in an entirely different way from her intentions?? Or is it the LTSA showing they have a sense of humour!!!!
