Co-pilot and I were invited to the Motorcycle awards last night as guests of Triumph NZ.
What a great night - Reece and the guys from MTN did a super job. Night of nights show. Food was excellent and Blue Wing Honda put on a pretty good 'after party' and band. Co-pilot and I happy to report we were first on the dance floor and got home around 3.30am. I was 100% trolley-ed.

I noted that by 2am the 'motorcycle industry' had started to look like a bunch of bikers.

Their Bike of the year was the big Yamaha MT1something.

Off road rider of the year was Josh Coppins
Road rider of the year.....Tony Rees

Motorcycling hall of fame inductee was Hugh Anderson. I spent a fantastic half an hour having a great old yarn and hearing stories from a real high achiever.

Met Ken Macintosh, hung out with the Thunderbird riding minister of customs, Rick Barker, spoke to messers Rees, and all the players at some stage of proceedings and then danced and danced and danced till the wee smalls.

My head hurts a bit now.

What a great night ......

I was there too but didn't see you:doh:

Oh well, had a good night anyway, even though I wasn't with my co-rider.

And because of that wasn't on the dance floor. Glad you were able to keep the biker reputation going:rockon:

You missed telling everyone that ULYSSES got the Safety Award, for their work in trying to make other road users aware of us bikers:2thumbsup

Have you renounced colour - except for 'in your work' - as previously instructed?

Tall bloke - had my medal on? We were the table that cheered and stomped when Euan(sp?) Gilmore said he rode a Bonneville.

I thought the definition of trolley - ed was when you couldn't lie on the floor without hanging on - makes dance floors pretty gnarley. :doobey:

Sounds like a good night.
