On behalf of friend, no rego, no warrent. Could be legit but doesn't smell right.

I'd try asking if they can go get the warrant and rego before buying the bike, if you pay once it passes.

This one could be genuine but I saw one similar to this (only cheaper still) a while ago on trademe so decided to persue it to see if it was legit. The seller gave his location as Rotorua. Turned out the bike was supposedly in the USA, the owner in Italy and they wanted the money to be sent to an account in Rumania!! The funniest part of the whole deal was that they were going to transport a Ducati from the USA via UPS parcel post!! Got several insistant e-mails from Rumania and he only gave up after being told to F&*$k off several times.
Caviat emptor!

if it looks like a scam, smells like a scam then it most likely is a scam.

Just out of interest, what is the new listed price for a 749?
I would think in the $25K range..

Seen this before. Big scam considering what it would cost to set up on NZ roads.

Ok, so no talking to the banks for a loan just yet then. I'll run around the shops tomorrow to see what dealer prices are.

This one could be different as it says bike to collect from Auckland, maybe its been shipped over, could be a track only bike? If you could get to eyeball the bike, I think you'd feel alot more confident about the seal. And the starting price is $13K, so depends on how much he actually wants for the bike too. But yeah, rego could be a problem if there are no dereg papers.

Well I still have yet to ride one so not sure if I like the feel of it and all that. But after that and by the time I get the go ahead from the bank then the one I posted up may go higher or be sold so gonna keep my eye out. This one only caught my eye becouse it comes with carbon fibre exhaust aswell as stock.

I know the carbon fibre sounds better so that is deffinately a route I'll be taking.

Mate - that's old Kerry from Motohaus. Top bloke in every sense of the word. He couldn't of earned the primo reputation he has by cutting corners.

in pic 2 there is a .CO.NZ sticker on the wall, so the bike is in nz. i think you're being cautious, but like some have said - it's only starting at 13k, not buy now
