vibration problem

Just had new tyres fitted front and back,got my rf serviced at the same time. Now iv'e got a nasty vibration that kicks in at 100kph and gets worse till around 140-150kph then flattens out to a small niggle. Theres always been a slight vibration at 100kph but not as bad as it is now. Can new tyres cause this problem? Really feel it humming through the tank and coming up through the footpegs Bloody annoying. Anyone got any suggestions?

Check your chain for any tight spots. They may have adjusted your chain without noticing a tight link (easy to do). Let us know what u find.

If it was a car id say your wheels need balancing. I assume bike tyres get balanced aswell?

I would edit those speeds matey, but yea, check if they balanced the tyres.

But to get back on topic, chain and or tyre balance sound likely cuplrits as has been suggested.

Or - possible flat spot on tyre?
Probably a rare thing. Only ever seen one on a bike tyre, and was caused by long term storage (6 months) with stuff piled on top of tyre.

check the chain ( but the adjusters shouldn't have been touched while doing a tyre change).
check the balance ( put the bike on the centre stand & find the heavy spot of the wheel, if its balanced the valve should fall to the bottom of the wheel when the wheels spun a round & slows & comes to a stop).

check to make sure the tyre has been seated on the rim properly! ( sometimes when the tyres blown up 1st time to seat it, it doesn't fully bed on the rim )

does the vibration feel like it is from the back or frount of the bike?

Take it back. Get the shop to fix it. It definitely sounds like out of balance wheels.

the vibration is coming from the back. I'm taking it back to the shop tomorrow. Ill see what they come up with!
