Doesnt really matter to me, so long as it resulted in some close racing.

So long as the racing's good, I don't really mind - I'd prefer it to be a Kiwi, but if it's an Australian......well, after all, IIRC some Kiwis have gone over there and won (at least at Bathurst??)

Now there is a man with a good perspective.
Me I would rather see one of the KBers win so I will do my little bit in that direction.
Notwithstanding simultaneous slumps in cricket, Rugby, and League, the Aussies nrmally win enough. While it would be churlish of me to derive joy from their misfortune, it isn't exactly dampening my hanky.
Let's support our own guys so that the best man actually has a chance of winning

It will give the local guys a challenge. Those Aussies always fly when over here. It will mean more to our guys if they come out on top. Bring it on. :2thumbsup

the local boys have a more intamate knowledge of the tracks...so giles will be on the back foot to start with...I wonder whos supplying his bike...or is he bringing over his gsx-r 1000 from the auz championship [he came 2nd I think]
but will be good racing all the same...might open the door for a few kiwis to get noticed by the auzzies that will be over here watching giles...

Mat Mladin (Aussie) wins the American crown all the time. As said; if the racings good, that is all that matters.

I heard that he's bringing over the same bike (K5 gixxer) that he raced in this years series, so bad news for the kiwi riders. Can't see the kiwi guys getting anywhere near him to be honest. Ree's was lucky to get into the top 10 in the auzzie superbikes, mostly around 12th to 15th or so. Giles was always up the pointy end in the top 5. Yeah the local track knowledge of the nz riders might be a little bit helpful but the tracks over here aren't that technical compared to the auzzie tracks. Will be some good racing to see anyway.

I thought the level of modification allowed for the Australian series was a bit higher than ours?

Those aussies are cheatin bastiges anyway. The horsepower they are producing is near impossible if they stay within the rules. Thats just an excuse that sore loosers bring out.

Our only hope is our local knowledge... but it doesnt take much local knowledge down the back straight of Pukekohe does it??
But heres the thing... nobody tell that Giles character about the "Hill'.
Dont worry me and Riff Raff will be there to take "care" of him when he falls off... he he.
But in saying that it will make the racing more interesting, and you cant stop them coming over. It may raise the profile of NZ Supers a bit too.
Also they dont stop Greg Murphy from kicking the V8 Supercars arses, or Shaun Harris going to IOM TT and showing them what for.
wasn't Ree's racing on a year old kiwi built bike???

I think Tonys bike was prepared in Austrailia for last years Nats/Street race series. He was happy with the power and it didn't have any problems keeping up with anything else in a straight line.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.
Tony has retired anyway. Does anyone know if someone else will be riding his bike this year?

they are on unknown machienary to them becuase they aint aloud to do stuff all to bikes out here and theres all have work on em
but if its 125 racing then that will be good for us 125 riders to be able to race against a Aussie pro

Kiwi's are slow flightless birds, and auzies are fast bouncy marsupials, so I cant see that it will be all that close:slap:
plus our racing sucks, the ones that are any good are old fukers...

Nah I disagree hard out with that English rider Midge Smart is bloody good and Jay Lawrence was giving him a real good run for the title. Aussies are aloud in there series to grind the cams port the heads change the valves valve springs and caps etc etc in New Zealand we run production rules which lose us horse power from the start. I reckon Craig Sherriffs (sp) Jared Love, Hayden Fitzgerald etc etc will give em a run just be good to watch it is good for our riders to experience different riders and is good for the Ozzys to experience new tracks riders etc etc
Shaun's rider Guy Martin is going to no doubt be bloody fast tho and be good around Wangas and Paeroa but if theses Australian riders want to experience a challenge bring em along to Buckets:banana: F5 Dave and Jay can teach them what close racing is:doobey:

Motorsport: Superbike victory for Clee
12.12.05 9.40am
West Aucklander Ray Clee won his third NZ Superbike TT title by the tread on the front tyre of his Suzuki GSXR1000 at Pukekohe yesterday.
Clee took the lead from Australian Scott Charlton with a lap to go and won by just 0.013s from the Victorian with another Aucklander, Andrew Stroud, third in an all-Suzuki podium. Three-time Aussie champion Shawn Giles was fourth.
Amazingly Clee, who spends much of his time preparing machines for other people, had only ridden his winning mount for the first time on Saturday.
Stroud won both the sprint races with an engine prepared by Clee as the lap record was broken several times in the closest racing for years. He outbraked Clee and Charlton at the final hairpin of the NZTT but couldn't hold his line.
Seventeen-year-old Sam Smith stole some of the limelight from the established stars when he won the 600c TT.
In his first season at this level, the local boy from Glenbrook was third in the two sprint races with some aggressive riding on his Yamaha.
In the 15-lap feature race he took the lead from Suzuki's Craig Shirriffs with five laps to go and held on to win from Shirriffs and Australian Chris Seaton with defending champion Andrew Stroud fourth.
One of the most popular winners in what doubled as the first round of the national road-racing championships was Terry Fitzgerald, who won all three Formula Three races after spending the past 12 months battling cancer.
Among other triple winners were Dave Cole in the 250ccGP, Andrew Evans in the 125ccGP and Steven McCaffery in the Post Classics.

Stroud 217, Giles 207, Charlton 173.
Poor Andrew losing all those points. Lets hope he has a blinder this weekend.

Yep had a dnf in the 2nd race on the weekend. Also crashed in the 2nd race of 600's, can't remember him having a crash for a while. Should be a cliffhanger at ruapuna, can't wait to see it.

yeah me neither. maybe since he's done fairly well there might be more auzzies come over for next season, that can only increase the depth of our racers.
Get along to ruapuna this weekend, NZGP is the main event, sunday afternoon. Could well decide this years superbike championship, at 15 laps it will be very interesting to watch.

I'd really like Andrew to win - it was very disappointing to see him have a DNF in one of the Levels races.
However, if Shawn Giles does win, he deserves to - he's awesome to watch. You can see why he's been Australian Superbike champ three (and almost four) times.
All I can say is that this season's racing has been the best in many years.

FANTASTIC. Did you see the Puke racing on TV the other day? Brilliant! Especially the 600's.
I went to Puke to watch the first round. I could NOT believe how empty the place was. There was like NOBODY in the crowd.
What the #&%$*@&* is going on??!!
