Anyone know how to de-restrict the speedo governor on a zxr250c?
Prefer to know before I take it out to have a fiddle.:2thumbsup

easy just disconnect your speedo cable, if are wanting to get past the speed restricter you have no need to know how fast you are going, right??

open the speedo and look at the govern mechanism, its basicly a tab that trips a infared trip, simple fix, bend the tab so it doesnt trip it or do the lazy way like me, and rip the speedo out, shove the restricter in a little black box (taping the tab so it doesnt move) and putting a zxr400 speedo on.

You will know if it worked or not because if you screw up it will run like you are on 2 cylinders at around 14k then it will die at 16k, this is just the cdi safety kicking in. Have fun.

Great, thanks for those replies, I was told about the "tab" at the back, just wanted to confirm before attempting anything.
And the option of disconnecting the speedo is a pretty good idea.
Really annoyed me on the east-west sprint weekend when the governor keep kicking in on the flying mile runs. As you can guess, nothing over 180km were recorded, from memory, best avg was around 178?

mmmm 178 may be as fast as the poor old kawa can go lol :dodge:

Does anyone know when the results for the sprints will be posted?
