Sorry Speedmedic... I dont own a digi camera...
But thats a good idea for you to buy me one for xmas.. then I can post heaps of pics

Great day.... meet up with a few up at Westgate, then we rode to Mt Wellington.... heaps of bikes.

The ride started out very slow... Yeah I was at the front and I was able to 'walk' my bike for some time. Then the pace picked up to 60km for the rest of the ride til we turned off into the city.... Down the bottom half of Queen Street and around to Britomart.

Total bikes, trikes and scooters = 450.

Then some of us KB'ers headed over to Mission Bay and had a nice sit down meal or drink.

Big Dave was swinging his camera around... so expect a few shots from him.

After that a few of us headed off to AMPS to check out a few bikes...
Yep we sat on a few of them... One of them I couldn't even reach the footpeg, its honestly that far forward.... let alone even get my feet to touch the ground. Now that 'Rocket' is HUGE.... what a monster of a bike.

Then 3 of us on the cruisers headed over to Colemans..... and then after a very short time, they kicked us out.... the lights went out.....
Yeah apparently they close at 2pm on a Saturday....

So a great day out with some really good people.
It was great to meet a few new Kb'ers as well.:2thumbsup

Fucking wicked run. Bikes for ages in front of us and even more behind.

Who was it on the scooter with the KB patch? With the scooter club that went along.

Was funny looking in my mirror and seeing heaps of bikes, then this big cloud of two-stroke smoke, then even more bikes. Slashwylde has some pics aswell that he may post up a bit later.

Anyway, great meeting all those that I hadn't met before, LucyLoo, Heavenly.Talker, Fart, MacktheKnife, Outlawtorn(NOT Outlawton, Crashe...) The Stranger, Madguitarist, and all the others that I cannot for the life of me remember the names of at the moment.

(Sorry BD but I wanted to stand out a bit today hence the white shirt. Don't worry though, it's back to the black tomorrow.)

Hey Waylander were you at Barry's point road in the morning? If so I was the stranger :)

Craig = Bulldog :slap:

I had a great time on my VTR250. But even more unreal was the fact that when I got back to Cyclespot after the ride, I traded my bike in for a VTR1000!! I'm a bad man. :bleh:

So I've been riding all day until now. Need a nanna nap I think. I have some photos. I'll attach.

We met up with a group of bikes in Ngaruawahia who were on their way back home to Te Kuiti from todays Ak toy run, they said it was a great time but a bit too short lived from only Mt Wellington to the city.

This one is run by BRONZ and you take a toy to give to the Sally Army for kids at Xmas.

The next one I know off is the Cambridge one next year.

what is a 'toy run'?
A charitable event wherein a large number of bikers load up their bikes with toys and block traffic for a goodly distance and deliver said toys to some predesignated place to give to a charity.

The Cambridge to Hamilton run - maximum 80km/h all the way from Victoria Street Cambridge to somewhere in Hamilton (Garden Place, last year) - is in aid of Child Cancer.

Sales of badges and other memorabilia also help as the prices include a donation to the charity and the run itself helps raise public awareness of the charity. (Try not being aware when you're stuck on a side road as around 800-old bikes roll sedately along SH1 between Cambridge and Hamilton bedecked with soft toys...)

The cubs each have a badge from the toy runs they were on in utero. The latest will be born before the next Cambridge-Hamilton toy run so she won't be getting a badge until she's old enough to pillion.

Crashe was just waiting for you to pull your hands off your bars...

I was right up front behind Santa's Trike... and had a couple of riders who were a tad all over the place, so I wasn't gonna risk it.... But I did see ya there and I did wave and toot to you.:2thumbsup

I can't understand that. I feel really pleased with the cops on the Toy Runs - out there stopping traffic and directing us to the right place through town, kindly turning a blind eye to the bikes that are on the toy run without warrant or rego...

I'm not the only bugger I've seen giving them a erspectful wave as we roll past.

The toy runs are excellently helped out by the cops.

I done good! I got cold (blardy shrinkage...) swam like a mad bastard, sweated profusely and found a very nice young... ermm... "pace setter" to follow (there goes the shrinkage problem...!)

I even posted an improved time so I'm very happy about that. KeyStone done good too... over 2 or 3 times the distance I did...!

I tooped it off with a quick mow of our parklike grounds, a touch of sunburn on the back of the neck and about 3 beers. All in all a good day!

Kudos to KEYSTONE????

She's BULLIED ME into this thing, WHIPS me every time I go to slow, BEATS ME every time every time I stop too soon and puts the cuffs back on every time I manage to pick the locks...

I guess I could ask her to stop if I didn't like it...

(Actually it's been a lot of fun, but bloody hard work for me considering how much my butt has grown accustomed to an office chair over the last 5 years....)

Good cause
Good ride (Albeit short)
Good weather
Good company
Good food
Good bikes (I'm really only talking about mine here he he)

It was a pleasure meeting fellow KBer's and having a good chat with them. Until the next time........

Anyway, back to the toy run. Absolutly loved it. Gonna have to make sure I can to the Cambridge-Hamilton one.
