funny start to the day, I rode over to Clevedon to wish the coro loop guys good luck, few mins after they left it started to pour down, half way over the hunuas and it bloody poured down. While my ride partner was wandering around (lost)Waiuku I decided to head for AB paps to dry out and grab some coffee,
By now the :sunny: had come out and the rain gone, was joined shortly after by another "Fight Club Member" we chatted as we waited for our long lost mate, soon we were off, down the motorway to drury along old GSR and up Ruincman Rd, across the harrisville and Tuakau and on to 22, by now the road the road had dried out and a good pace was set:blip: .
Once we got as far as Hetherington road we found 22 had been closed to all traffic, no option but to head via Hetherington, Rotowaro, Glen Afton and back on to 22, again this is a great bit of road and a good pace was set.
Stopped at the normal watering hole grabbed some gas and did the guy thing(talked Shit), meet some bikers from Te kuiti who had come up for the rally, also a couple on a beemer up from the mainland:rockon: (chch riders)
Off again and pretty much back the way we came, each having a turn up the sharp end, another great ride with good co, great to see lots of bikes out today, thanks for your co guys.

Hi Dave,
sounds like you guys had a great ride today! :2thumbsup
at the risk of hijacking your thread, do you know if there's a Yamaha Riders Club? and where do you go/recommend going to, get the arse-sx serviced? (peter's due soonish....). oh, and how often do you do your oil changes?

Nice to see you this morning. Had a great ride on the Coro loop. Pissed down round Kaiaua and overcast with a bit of drizzle to Kopu. After that it was sunshine all the way. Stopped in Whitianga for lunch at 'The Fireplace' - bloody good pizzas along with good conversation, then over to Coromandel and back via Thames. Detoured via Miranda then onto SH2 briefly and back via Hunua. Great day, thanks everyone for the company.

While my ride partner was wandering around (lost)Waiuku I decided to head for AB paps to dry out and grab some coffee,Yes I have heard that Waiuk' is a vast countryside that many a sprotsbike rider has never returned from...one guy I even heard say took him 3 1/2 days to find his way out!! :lol:
What a corker day for it in the end though! I was totally oblivious to the rainfall, it had been an exception morning at home and I headed away to the Coromandel just after 10am, I had a late cancellation of a family do up north so was able to ride today after all. When I heard that it was wet down east I was a little surprised, not to mention disappointed! Thankfully we had DRY roads throughout our blast, even at the end of 22 where it's usually damp through those twisties alongside the cliff face - I was very pleased to be able to up the pace through there.

Once we got as far as Hetherington road we found 22 had been closed to all traffic, no option but to head via Hetherington, Rotowaro, Glen Afton and back on to 22, again this is a great bit of road and a good pace was set.Bummer about the road works but they only lasted 2mins and the tyres & suspension handled them well. Like I said Dave, that stretch of road after the r/works is fantastic and was quite a new experience riding it the opposite direction today at a solid pace...I could have gone faster though...wait till my next bike for that! :blip:
Stopped at the normal watering hole grabbed some gas and did the guy thing(talked Shit), meet some bikers from Te kuiti who had come up for the rally, also a couple on a beemer up from the mainland:rockon: (chch riders)Pie tasted 'orrible! Was nice in the sun for 1/2 hour, got sunburnt neck!!
Off again and pretty much back the way we came, each having a turn up the sharp end, another great ride with good co, great to see lots of bikes out today, thanks for your co guys.Yeah the bikes out there today that we passed were riding slow as...or were we riding fast? :confused:
Thanks for your company too fellas, was a goodun!
Ps. I think everyone should know that SH22 is in shocking condition and should be avoided at all costs by any wannabe F/C members. :bleh:

Good to see you again (albeit briefly) at Clevedon F/F.
We had a bluddy pearler out 'round Coromandel. Great company, cold beer, couple of cunning stunts and a few interesting sights and moments.
Solved my transport problems while in Whitianga too.

(took me quite long to get to this thread but...) great ride, great day (well, the day part, at least).
Always great to do the Fight-Club routine every saturday, despite being lost around Waiuku. Thanks for the txt, Dave, otherwise I wouldn't be able to locate your position through GPS satelite triangulation (blah blah - IT terminologies - blah blah) and would probably succumb to being another rider dissapearing in the blackhole around that area. I heard there's a lot of possum ghouls there....around kingseat....
{RANT}
Got back to Akl at 4pm, did a bit of gardening, went out to have dinner with missus at 8 and came back at 10pm to find house has been ransacked!!!
2 laptops missing (including my work laptop with 1 year worth of research in a project), a few small stuffs (discman, mp3 player, radar detectors, i-pod, PSP, etc), smashed door frames, big hole gaping on the wall, and suitcases and clothes everywhere.
Dammit if I didn't call the cops, so I did. They haven't turn up until now, and it's been more than 24 hours. I gave them my address anyway, so hopefully they can find Mt.Albert sometime in the next 24 days (yea, the fingerprints are all gone now, you useless bureaucrats)
I don't fuckin care if you want to make me feel safe on the road! MAKE ME FEEL GODDAMN SAFE AT MY HOUSE FIRST!!!
I mean, if the robbers know the cops wouldn't even bother looking for them, wouldn't you think they'd go wilder???
f*ck this government (that I didn't elect anyway! yea, I have a rights to moan this time!)
{/RANT}
Anyway, again, great ride Dave. Good on ya for organizing (really?) and lookin forward to next weekend :2thumbsup
Btw, I now sleep with a hammer beside my bed, I got a dog today, and hopefully a monitored-alarm-system by next week. Perhaps electric fence around my windows next month. And an automatic rifle as soon as I get info on where to get one. Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again.

BTW: "Peter" is the love of my life...:lol:
PS: MARMOOT: really sorry to hear you got done-over dude!! The thing that's really shit, is that the only way those bastards would've been caught/pulled over is if they'd been doing 10k's over the speed limit on a bike.... :angry:

despite all the great rides, succulent dinners and endless sex, that's how pathetic my happy life is. Ask FF, he can vouch for that. :yes:
