OK not such a huge turnout on such a blustery day as mentioned on the other thread, but at least the rain never got too bad. Here's a few pics of the turnout. As agreed the ride started at the top of the Rimutakas.
Right I'm back finding time to add names, someone tell me if I get any of these wrong by any chance:
1st pic, from the left: can't remember the first guy's screen name you need to remind me (OK as below Garry H has said it is flyingscotsman - I knew he had a funny accent sounded like that bloke used to be on TV in the beer ad said he was from Taihape), then its Paul in NZ, Mangell6, Garry H, Mrs merv.
2nd pic, from the left: Dafe, sels1, skelstar.
3rd pic, from left: flyingscotsman, Paul in NZ, Garry H, merv.
4th, 5th and 6th pics, the bikes: sels1 Triumph, Paul in NZ Guzzi, Mangell6 FZ1, merv VFR.

A bit wet on the ground, but no hard rain. So it was only a short ride from the top of the 'takas, across Paekak hill and on to Raumati for Xmas cake.
The bikes in the pics: Mangell6 FZ1, merv VFR, flyingscotsman XJR1200, Dafe K6 Gix, skelstar Hyosung, F5Dave YZF750SP.

Thanks Merv for the pics...although I'm so sure how flattering that shot of me demounting Black Berry is, there are sooooo many songs that could be used there!
It was my 1st ride out on the MW since my off and I was a little nervous and it was a little breezy for my liking, but thanks to Sels1, F5_Dave & Graeme (who I'm assuming is a KBer) for keeping an eye on me along the way.
Oh and Mangell6 for assisting with some minor adjustments too & Jim2 (who wasn't on the ride) for dealing to Betty later with some lock tight so that the thingee-ma-bob won't come loose again!
Thanks to Paul & Vicki for the coffee & Chrissie cake at the end too. Yumyumyum :2thumbsup

If I'm not mistaken the ? Guy with the XJ1200 is flyingscotsman. Cool profile. He's doing a south island tour soon.
Huge thanks to Vicki and Paul for organizing and putting on a great evening. Thanks so much for the accomadation.

I didnt mean you Jim, honest...........
That Tiger is lovely.
Why thank you. Actually I have been a bit (pleasantly) suprised by the amount of positive comments I have had about it. Seems a popular choice.

In these pics we have additionally (I think) phoenixgtr FXR150, Celtic_Sea_Lily CB250RS, plus some of the previous ones mentioned.
That would be me on the FXR150... first time I've seen a photo of myself riding it... I seriously need to get a bigger bike.
I gate crashed the ride at the bottom of the Rimutakas (I was late and I didn't feel like tackling the hill in the wind and wet) for a quick blat over Haywards and the Paekak Hill (where it was bone dry), then I headed back down SH1. Sorry I didn't have time to go on to Paul's. I hope to catch up with you all on another ride...

Yep, thats not me!!
For future reference I have a silver FXR. I sadly missed the ride. I was too busy having my first off. Very minor but I'm pissed off about the scratches on my bike. Oh well. You live, you learn :weep:

I'm fine. No worrys. Made sure I went for a ride on Sunday to assure myself that its ok. Lost a bit of confidence but I'm ok. Only damage to the bike is some (mostly) minor scratches on the right fairing and the heat shield on the exhaust. :weep:
Always knew it was gonna happen some day. Just glad it was a minor and that I wasn't going very fast. Hopefully the weather clears this week. :sunny: Would be nice to go for a real ride. Thanks for the concern. I appreciate it. :)
P.S. Has the indicator arrived yet? Still 2 weeks away?

OK I was only guessing it was you because you had been posting how you'd be coming on the ride. So I'll go back and edit the names with the pics again.
See you sometime then.

Hi all, thanks for your good company on my first KB'ers ride. A wonderful selection of bikes too - good to see a few of the smaller bikes out. Apart from waiting in the pi$$ing rain for an hour before the ride began (I was a wee bit early !!) it was a good day. Thanks to Paul for the coffee & cake after the ride. Sorry that I couldn't stay for the BBQ. Great photos Merv - gee..where did my hair go ?? It was great to meet you all - hope to see you all again soon. Cheers:2thumbsup
