who here is honestly sick of those nutters that spend all their money on their crappy japanese cars? i just drove through christchurch city and honestly, every second car had 17 inch chromes and was lowered and contained a pimply teenage guy tryin to make himself seem cool with his huge muffler and blow off valve. i'm totally against boy racers for the following reasons:
1. they have no taste in cars
2. the crap cars they choose (civics, skylines, you know the type) are ruined by the enormous gauges and neon lights and other plastic crap they stick on them
3. the mufflers make them sound fast and powerful when in reality they are driving 1.2 litre mazdas

Well since ya sister is dating one of them...
You will now know what to buy ya sister for xmas.
Hearing aids.....
Cos she will be needing them soon if she hangs around in the car a lot..
What with the motor/exhaust reving the guts out and then the sterio blaring out.... she will soon be deaf or suffer with tinnitus.

Get the guy to take it out to the track and show you what it'll do...
Personally - I'd put my money on cooking the brakes and running off the end of the straight...
Got to be good for a laugh (and reminding him the car might look good - in his eyes - but it's not too flash where and when it counts)

but of course, us bikers are all dat...
but when the public see bikers they think "dam, i wish that was me..." :2thumbsup
yet when they see boy racers they think "dam, i wish that wasnt my sister's boyfriend..."
the guy has a '97 civic for god's sake :tugger:
and its ony 1.8 litre
he told me he wants to have black mags and black paint so it could be "stealth"
WTF?????
bit of a shame that he's twice my size :kick:

Each to their own. Sure, I'm sick of it as well but hey like I said, each to their own.
Somewhere on a car forum there is a thread about bikers wearing full leathers thinking they are 'Valentino Biaggi'. Time to get over it.

either they get huge loans out, or live with their parents while working full time at building or panel beating apprenticeships and spend all their money on their car. its crazy!! :ar15:

Finance, finance and more finance. Sure there are the exceptions that have saved up and done the hard work themselves, but for the majority it's a simple finance application.

I never had a problem with boy racers, to each his own & all that, till one day I found my work van had been stoned in one of their burnout frenzies in the industrial area where it was parked overnight. Had to write it off, not a straight panel or unbroken glass part left on it!!! Little f*&ckers!!!
Now, my 17 year old son is one of them, complete with all his f*&head mates raising hell most nights, luckily hes had his licence taken off him & is now banned from driving, but that didnt stop him collecting over $6500 in fines!! WTF are these idiots thinking??

Use to have to deal with them when working on the Yellow Shuttles. Their road manners are so appalling they make a navie look as if he is from the Diplomatic Cor, they have about as much tast in music as a sodomite whose had his tounge removed for licking places where you and I use toilet paper, and as for thinking, if any of them could even comprehend the thought they would break out in so much persperation that they would disolve leaving nothing but a small wet puddle indistinguishable from their urine.

I don't mind boy racers at all!
I love smoking boy racers!!! They always have a go without doubt..... and they always get made to look foolish!
I love it when they have a mate in the car, makes them look like such a joke!
I especially love WRX's, Evo's, Skylines and occasional Holdens & Fords!
But I love absolutely nothing more than - Porsches!!!
Without these guys, I would have alot less entertainment!

SOME boy racers are dicks but alot ain't, I used to be one and had alot of fun going out with mates on friday and sat. I never damaged anyones property and neither did my friends. I have lost my licence twice and paid over ten grand in fines. Car cost me 18thou and spent about another 15thou doing it up, all performance upgrades NO cosmetic. I have had only one accident that was my fault when i was on my restricted. Also have beaten a few BIKES in my car driving around the waitakeres. I think it's something you go through when your younger. Basically I think alot of boy racers are just like bikers, (the ones I know anyway) they just wanna go fast and enjoy the ride.
I think boy racers today are more hoodlums then boy racers and they don't even race anymore all they do is buy mercs etc and try to look cool.
ps. SKYLINES RULE!!! GO THE R32, R33 and R34 GTR
also the r33 gts25t that was mine. 400bhp at the rear wheels
oh yeah, thought i might add that i worked hard to buy my car no finance for me.
I know i should just edit my last posts but can't be bothered. I agree with ayone who says boy racers are shit drivers, but there are exceptions to the rule, like me.
I used to own a 1275 mini before the skyline and i could beat evos and wrx and skylines through the waitakeres. Hopefully i'll become a good rider to !!

So you had the whole sleeper thing going - I LOVE sleepers, especially the old r32s and cars that won't usually stack up against mr 'mugen vtec nismo drift-x mopar r37 gtrrrr type R greddyNOS spec 5 C version' etc.
I have heard of a few 400+ (RW) hp skylines, namely the gts25t's etc and for me it seems like a waste with no 4wd power delivery, they just smoke the rears up at any speed... must be fun going sideways though ;)
I think it was texmo who told me they can struggle to get decent 1/4 mile speeds because they can't get traction at all?
P.s. Skylines rock!... (yoshi feel free to bring the 'zillah out at another ride, I might just 'run out of fuel' and have to 'leave the bike at the petrol station' :P)
edit: and i'd be telling the boy racer to get away from your sister, no matter how big he is... Give him the once over, I'm sure dad will appreciate and be there to help if needed!

Stop bitching about jap imports boys and girls - the cuntry runs on em....... or would you rather everyone owns one of 4 brands of car???
I mean imagine if we had no jap imports for bikes? God knows what types of heaps that everyone one would learn to ride on.... would be the 1960's all over again.

It is really a case of me being jealous. After all, these kids can do burnouts and drags in the middle of town and not a single cop to be found. I however cruise home on the open road at 120k/hr and the only car that will show up for miles will be a cop car.
i think the problem these days is back when we did it we did it in MkIII cortinas and if you were really cool you might have had an escort. Nowadays kids are buying powerful cars that can really do damage and then modifiying them to dangerous levels. I don't object to car ethusiaists. They are the ones who care about their cars and work hard on them to make them something good. Different story for boy racers

So are you pissed at boyracers, or are you pissed that one is poking your sister? Personally I have no problem with boyracers. Each to their own and all that. I imagine there's a few people who hate that wanker on the bike that splits past them every morning and night while they're stuck being a good sheep in traffic, then cuts them up round the twisties on the weekend... oh, wait, that's me (and prob a fiair percentage of this site).

1275 GT.... my old man had one of them modded back in the days, apparently only dual 3in Coby's would shut me up when i was a baby...... that car got alot of trips round Dunna's thats to my wailing.

Define "Boy Racer"
I'm a young male with a skyline in the (long) process of being done up. When it's done it'll be faster than my bike in a straight line, and not a hell of a lot slower in corners
1. My car is by my own admittance Ugly
2. It's a Skyline, it may have guages but you can't see them from outside
3. The mufflers will be straight through, but should be effective
4. I can ride ok, and I can drive OK
5. If I decide to put a stereo in it, I'll play whatever I like at whatever volume I like, (but I'll probably leave the stereo standard, tape stackers are cool)
6. Is your sister hot?

Perhaps you could put the springs back in the Skyline, then it might be able to handle a bit better... I'd fully expect a sorted car to annihilate a bike through corners. Can't beat physics.

1. they have no taste in cars they tend to drive what is easy to get parts & go fast bits for.
2. the crap cars they choose (civics, skylines, you know the type) are ruined by the enormous gauges and neon lights and other plastic crap they stick on them there are many crapy ones, but things like a Vtec civic, gtr skyline,WRX,or hidious EVO's can funkin haul ass.
3. the mufflers make them sound fast and powerful when in reality they are driving 1.2 litre mazdas most of them arent as loud as my/our bikes.& how about the days we did the same thing to our 1.3 escorts.
4. none of them can drive properly!!! A fomer workmate of mine who is a total boy racer, can drive the arse off a car,& blows the rest of us away at supercarts. the real issue is many of them just dont have fear.
5. im absolutely sick of hearing them come down my street at night playing gangster rap :bash: yeah thats a bitch.

I used to have an r32 Skyline gts4 that I poured a whole heap of money in to. Had a t3/t4 turbo, remapped ecu, front mount intercooler and had properly sorted bilstein suspension. It was putting out a little over 200kw at the wheels when I got rid of it. It never saw town on a friday/saturday night and I had it out and manfeild a few times. It went pretty fast around corners and got well sideways when you told it to. It had no ridiculous wings, or gauges and I managed to fit the intercooler in behind the stock bumper.
It just got too expensive to run and buy tyres for all the time so I sold it and got the tzr which was quicker up till about 150 anyway.
However I do agree there are plenty of moron boy racers out there with cut springs and baked bean tin mufflers on their shitty civics who drive like complete little twats. They're the ones who annoy everyone.

Have done the odd car track day / attended rally school etc ,Still reckon the bike has it over the car on 80 % of the corners (except the real tight ones or corners with loads of bumps)

My boy racer car of choice was a MkII Zephyr that I had stripped the paint off, masked off, primered grey and never quite got around to painting for a couple of years.
Could easily fit six people in it, seven without too much of a squeeze, with plenty of beer and the obligatory 5oz glass (feed yer backs, feed yer backs....!).
Friday & Saturday nights cruising around town parking in the centre-plots, looking for parties (yeah...umm...Matt invited me....).
Sunday cruises in the country drinking increasingly warm beers (no chilly bins then), driving up to the back doors of pubs to get more supplies.
Home-made compilation tapes of ACDC, Sex Pistols, J Geils (My Angel Is A Centerfold)................
Any chick that got lured in got hit on by everyone until one by one the contenders were whittled down and the rest just got drunk (feigned interest in their conversation, concern about their shitty home situation/friends, some blokes could get away with filthy jokes & some couldn't).
Aaaaaahhhh good days, good days.......................

Ah yes, 4 across the front seat of the F100 and another three - four in the deck out back, winding it out in 2nd gear to hear the farty V8 noise from the zorst.
Could get 8 big bottles of Bavarian Bitter in the glove-box of the '48 - try THAT in your Skyline or whatever!!
Learned all about aerodynamics and wind-flow when I pissed out over the tail-door, wind whipped around and the whole lot of us in the back got a free 'golden shower' - I made it worse by laughing so hard I couldn't stop - the rest had somewhat differing ideas on how 'funny' it was!!:slap:

That ruf ctr (yellowbird is it?) is what you would term a heavily modified after market type sportsy car. Like turbo'ing a busa and giving it ohlins and all the go fast bits, something along those lines.
But shit yeah, nice and friggen quick car. Would give most road legal cars in NZ a run for their money with the power figures a RUF is capable of extracting out of a Porsche.

Ha Ha ,
Maybe I was one of the first "Boy Racers". Back in 1986 I brought a 81 Mazda 2.0 626 Coupe , was an grey import (before imports were allowed in by the boat load)and cost me years salary. Lowered the car on Aussie springs , put Munroe GT gas shocks in , the mags were a BBS pattern copy with 225/60/13 bridgestones with white lettering and the arches were flaired. My brother did some engine work on it.The exhaust was changed to 2 inch system for a bit more power. It had an aftermarket sunroof (Aunger)fitted and put in a hella lighting grill kit . Also had small racing steering wheel.
The sounds was the very lastest Alpine tape head unit with a digital tuner (wow) . The head unit (2 x 6 watts) ran some 4 X 6's in the front. The rears were 8 inch two ways , Had an Alpine 40 watt amp running these sitting under the passengers seat. Don't recall rust being a problem on that one, but the car was forever blowing head gaskets.

Lol about the Porsches , but some of those brigdestone series guys can drive and theres a 550 hp 930 which is road legal in NZ.
One 911 that most of us would have trouble smoking is the RUF 911.
Check out these video's from 10 years ago ..... Anyone game for a challenge ?. I'll pass .....

Now that would be fun! Especially chasing him on that track!:devil2:
Dude, Go down to your local bike store and take a K5/K6 out for a test ride and then come back to this post and tell me honestly, whether you'd want to have a go!!! I'm serious too, take the testride!

Having hired a K3 1000 for 5 days I can understand the accelleration, I guess the K5/6 are better handling than the K3 ? anyway my skill level wouldn't be up to chasing something like that.... Would be fun trying though ...

A few points:
Not all Jap cars are shit.
Not all of us that are also into sports cars as well as bikes are shit drivers, i have done my bit of time at the track, and would be happy to meet there...
Why is it that bikers have to be all hard arse..."I am a die hard biker, cages suck ass"? Shit mate, everyone has their bit of fun, I love my turbo 200sx, it hauls as, stops well, corners exceptionally, sounds nice and looks pretty good.
I do agree tho, that these boy racers driving 'pimped' Honda accords with 5000kg chrome spiiners and cannon exhaust are a pin in the ass. They cannot drive, their cars are slow, they race on the roads, wouldn't have a hope in HELL of controlling a car in full lock drift or oversteer, and generally are on into cars to 'pull the bitches'.
My point is that just because someone likes a performance car, that dont make us like the rest.
To be honest, i regularly think of selling my car at the moment, i do not want anything to do with that scene anymore.
Also don;t forget, these businessmen in their V8's are just as bad as some of the boy racers. WHen i take to 200sx out, its the older men in the V8's who try to race.

Tui moment here: yeah right!!
In my youth I heard that expression heaps:
"Yeah, goin' ta drop a 390 Ford in my Mini, of course I could need a bigger muffler to suit.....and the 175 X 10's won't be able to handle the extra power..

aint the main reason you put a bigger motor in is to lose traction more easily when you bury youre boot?

Yeah, BUT you have to pretend it is for another reason eh??
Out tonight in the Mistral, forgot how 'grunty' it is - until I came off the road bridge and planted boot- and the 'f'nn little shit went sideways on me.!!
No need for bigger motor, - or bigger boot!!!

I learnt my lesson after a 1979 Toyota Starlet and 2 and a half years of putting a SR20DET (2 litre turbo) into it. Fuck me was that dangerous.

Hmm, Mistral only goes to 7,000rpm - BUT will pull from 1,500rpm in 5th.
Can wheel-spin in first 4 gears in the wet, but who the hell would want to do THAT???
Never learnt MY lesson though!!!

Whilst I cannot say I dont mind them, they do provide the humour value you mentioned, I had many a good time on the FZR thou when the turboed legacy, full of knobcheeses pulled up beside me at the lights.
The comments were all the same...............
"You guys and your fking bikes"
" Sounds big, but I bet it goes like shit"
"come on ya cnt, I'll blow you off the fking road"
" haha ha ha ahahahaa"
[wind on 5k worth on the tacho]
end of story.
