Damn things cheeseing me off.

Seem to have problems round my way with mozzies and such. Now I'm thinking of getting one of those repellant things you plug into the socket and it releases little puffs of smoke and shit.

Thought I'd ask on here if anyone else has the same problem, and what they found solved it.

Cheers.

I kill 'em with my visor every time I ride... I reckon trips to Hamilton and back and the like could just about set genocide records...

We use an ecomist in the kitchen, bloody good, only 1 or 2 flies a day.

Try having a bath :eyepoke: or get rid of the corpse, they attract flies ya know :bleh:

There's some long-term insect stuff that we sprayed all around the outside of the house, particularly around windows and doors. That helped a lot. I think it was called 'Ripcord'. Got it from Mitre10 or like that there. That stuff they advertise on TV might be good too (Mortein Professional?)

I like to slam my bike into them at 250kph. Seems to work, and the aerodynamics of the bike at that speed means that they get sucked into the big vent in the front of the bike. It then increases the power output from their tiny bodies..
Makes a hell of a mess around the house tho

bug zapper... "Electroblitz"

Hang it outside for a couple (or 7) days and listen to the little dears flying gleefully into the 5,000 Volt landing pad.

kzzzzzzZZZZAPPP!

Lovely things they are and they get rid of the breeding pairs... for miles around. Your neighbours will love you for it

Contamination Control in Auckland can sell them - dunno who else does.

How much do these cost? I assume they need to be plugged into the power to create a shock?

Sounds good thou, as long as they're not too expensive.

Dunno - the place is out Mt Wellington Glen Innes way (just by the quarry I think - that's where I got mine).

Yeah, plug it into the mains but it draws bugger all - the most is to the little UV lamp in the thing.

Mozzies etc get a zap from the light, but some others need bait (like flies for example). A wee bit of dead fish did the trick for me... a small bit - they'll pick it up before you do.

Where is Auckland are ya? You can borrow mine to try out for a month or something if you want. PM me

Don't take this sort of shit lying down - all these bugs breed in the grass verge on the side of the road...this is the Councils problem and you should write them an email and threaten to sue for every penny they got.All the roadsides should sealed and layed with energy absorbing foam in case a motorcycle should come to grief....how the motorcycle came to crash is a different story and I'm sure the riders lawyers have found someone responsable. The bugs shouldn't be there,it's your right to have a bug free ride!

Ever notice that on the ride towards Themes from the gas station on the Coro Loop is covered with flies... I blame the cows... too much mooing and not enough burgers!
