View Full Version : Endangered Fish caught in net

SPORK
7th December 2005, 15:56
Due to unforeseen events, several nets have been placed around the Auckland harbour to prevent Fish from entering certain domains.

An anonymous source claims that local technology companies are expecting sudden and inexplicable jumps in engineering productivity over the short term.

Marine forecasters are predicting a concomitant rise in evening and weekend piscine populations.

Kinda got the impression that this might have been the reason 'fish' left the site last time.

Pass on my best regards. 'Tain't nice being busted at work for this sort of thing (and yes, I do have first hand experience).

You can still work for a government entity or at least on secondment and spend more time surfing than working! I know I do. But I am trying to cut down - I only check in every hour or so now.

Before ya get wired about it I'll be back at my real work where there are very strict internet controls.

Im not sure how I get away with it but I do surf with iages off. If anyone is using firefox then youve got to download an extension called 'images like opera'. You can ctrl-right-click on image placeholders and it loads just that image. Very cool.

I ,for one, can spend a bit of time on here as I consider myself to be 'semi retired' :bleh: although my wife considers me to be 'temporarily between jobs'!???

Work is cutting back hours and I never really sleep. That's how I'm always on. Yes I have no life when out of Auckland or off my bike. I like it that way.

Close, it says I must monitor all users and penalise and report those using excessive bandwidth for personal internet use. :killingme

So - to define "excessive", you need to establish a bench mark of what is "reasonable" bandwidth usage. And the most logical way to do that is to monitor your own usage - since that by definition must be reasonable. And report any one who uses more than you. But, in order to be fair, you need to make sure that your own usage is at the maximum end of "reasonable". Hence, the need to monitor suitable sites- and KB is more suitable than most. Works for me.

Depends on how many variables I have to deal with when I sit at my desk. If the coffe machine wasn't turned on for me, the systems always seem to go on the blink for 29 mins exactly. If it is on, well I look for fault in something else just to justify me being an arse.
