Says the guy who's football matches last 5 hours and play is in progress 1/4 of that time?
And the 7th innings stretch - gimme a break.

Is cricket the game where they try to bowl a red ball and get as close as they can to the white ball, and if they win they have to kick it over some posts, and if they do that they have a BBQ and the one that eats the most takes home the ashes??

Yeah but everyone expects us to loose. Before that 7 in a row we did win a triangular torney quite convincingly. Yeah I know zimbabwe was 1 team but the other was india, not an easy task.
As for the game, I still can't believe we got so close and screwed it up. Guess you'd have to say that clarke was the person that won it for them. Wonder how many times he can hit the stumps with a direct hit from there. Probably 5 out of 10 or so. Oh well, atleast it was a decent spectacle to watch this time. Wonder how we will go in chch. Wonder who they will drop for fleming to come back in? Probably h marshall although mcmilian and styris haven't been doing much lately.

Yep you're right there. No one would have given us a chance of getting within 100 runs after the auzzie innings. How things can change in 4 days for lee. 18 runs off the 2nd to last over, including 2 no balls and a wide. Ponting was very close to loosing it with the umps too. So close....:slap:

Aunty Helen was playing?!? I thought she/he was a rugby fan? And as for playing for the other side - we've known she/he's been doing THAT for years!

Great game. Shame we lost, but still goes to show that when on form, the Black Caps are a good ODI side. If Fleming had been playing (still rated as one of the best captains in the sport) it could have been so different. What they have to realise is that you can't leave it to the tail enders to put on the runs every time. It took Cairns to realise that they had to start coming down the wicket at the Aussie bowlers and knock a few back over their heads. Ponting hadn't had a huddle with his bowlers until they started getting hit into the stands and it was at this point that you could see they were getting worried.

yea .. but put Tana up against someone like the Fridge and see how much pain he's in after the first quarter (and for those that say a 340 pound monster cant move that fast.. ive seen him play in person and he's not a slow man.. just dont make him chase you for more than 20 yards or the momentum will kill you..)
baseball sucks since 94 and the "i'm not making enough money cuz 9 billion dollars a years isnt enough" strike

Only cars in the states that look similar to your utes are called El-caminos and are driven by mexican lawn care workers. And things like the Hilux and mini-trucks. if it's smaller than a quarter ton truck (Chevy 1500, Dodge Ra 1500, Ford F-150) it's not a truck, it's a car. And my dads Chevy Silverado got 15 miles to a gallon.

Yeah and mccullum managed to get a bit of bat on it and it went down to the 3rd man boundary for four. Then the next ball was a bouncer way over his head called a wide. Then on the last ball of the over, ponting screwed up and only had 3 men inside the circle. After the umpires confered and had a very animated discussion with ponting they called it a wide. After that no ball we required 7 off 8 balls. The rest is history...
