Seems Max's empire is crumbling around him. Camel have been keen to back him and latest news suggested that he would find a home on board a Kawasaki, running in Camel colours. However he's just struck a snag, in that Bridgestone are claiming that they are unable to supply tyres to another bike, and now seems the deal is going to fall over. Honda have flatly refused to supply him, after he was recorded at Phillip Island slagging the bike off big time, and also some comments he made in Turkey, that got to the top brass, who have played hard ball. He was hoping to be back on a Camel Honda, but Honda said no way, hence the interest in Kawasaki after Yamaha also said they werent interested in working with him again. He may yet end up in WSBK. No chance of a Suzuki or Ducati ride if Bridgestone cant (won't?) supply tyres, though.
Seems the Camel money will go back to Sito Pons' team and back Carlos Checa and Casey Stoner, without the Camel money it looked as if Casey Stoner was going to miss out on the ride as Pons' didnt have the backing for two riders.

yep, he's a bit like old John Kocstinky......always got problems but mostly in his own head.
Hes a good smooth rider, but not quite good enough to foot it consistantly at the front.

Hey I like Max, how many people with his skill started riding at 17? Show a little respect for the Emperor, he deserves it.

Maybe if the Emperor had shown Honda some respect he'd have a ride next year....

Now thats some record! He doesnt deserve to get treated like this.
Honda should pull their friggen head in, now MotoGP has lost two of the bigger glamour sponsers due to their meedling with riders. Movistar Telefonica and now Camel have both pulled the pin and quit the sport.

Sure its a good record and something to be proud of.....but to be an almost champion so many times in the top class is not good enough. Sooner or later teams want a winner, someone who can battle through adversity and come out on top. Max can't do that. If everything is not perfect in the world of Massimiliano then he can't pull out the win.
To publicly slag off your team, mechanics and bike doesn't help your career much especially when you are dealing with people as proud as the japanese (honda).
That is why he has no job.

well...max isn't gunna get a ride with kawasaki...although they were keen...bridgstone didn't want to have anything to do with him...so the rules out suzuki aswell.....but aprilia want him apparently.....they are going to offer him a deal if they can get enough sponsership/funds for another rider...

Theres a suggestion that Aprilia may drag the cube out of hiding and run Max on that next year in motoGP. Seeing it was uncompetitive 3 years ago with Haga and Edwards on board, it will do well to beat the WCM, if it happens. More likely is that Max will race Supermotard for Aprilia and help develop the new Superbike Aprilia are working on for a return to WSBK in 2007.
