pulled the rear tail cover off my tl yesterday and on the right hand side was a piece of rod which is just like the stand that you use to hold a car bonnet up it was held by the same sort of clips too.
what the hell is it for.
it comes righrt off.
anyone know?

maybe its to pull out little animals, and small children out of the muffler??

Tank prop I think you'll find. Like my Gixxer, I think the TL tank is hinged at the back. So when you lift the tank up to get to whatever you put the rod in to support it.

funny you say that yesterday my youngest boy put a couple of ring spanners down the muffler lucky they were still near the end so i managed to get them out with a bit of wire.

:2thumbsup exactly ..and the rubber bung on the end of it is to plug the fitting on fuel tank when you remove the fuel injection return line. (fwiw)
