Well, My weekend was full over adventure..
Left work Friday night, Got home about 6.30pm. Then it was in the car with the flatmate heading to Hamilton. Got up there rather late.
Saturday morning, got up nice and early, heading to Tauranga and Bay City motorcycles. Where the flatmate was test riding a ZX12R. After all that, he didnt end up liking it. had a good yarn to Andy at the shop, then we were on our way again.
Saturday night was spent drinking and rocking out with the Tauranga night life. (have had better nights up there, but was still good fun)
On the way back is where all the fun began.
A reasonably fast right hander just out of Te Awamutu, we had a rh rear tyre blow out! Dont worry.. Its all good.
Few minutes spent changing to the spare (which wasnt much better condition) and we were on our way.
Stopped in Te Awamutu, to pump it up, and all seemed fine.
We felt a bit of a shudder, but didnt really have any choice other than to keep going.
Got as far as Tamuranui (sp?), and the shudder wa just too bad. We didnt want another blow out! Looking at the tyre and it was bulging somthing cronic!
Keep in mind this is about 3pm SUNDAY afternoon!
Trying to find a 24hr road service was not exactly the easiest thing to do!
But what'll ya know! An older guy at a Servo knew about some dude up the road!
Two new tyres later and we were finally on our way!
We are very lucky that old guy new who to call!
Point of the story!
Alway have a cell phone with charger!
Always make sure your spare tyres are in good condition!
And dont underestimate old people!
Got home safe and sound in the end!
