Just floating the idea.
Between the lot of us we would have massive buying power and Fuel cards might be the way to go? What kind of discount should/could/would we get?
Who knows about these things?
I figure we'd all need to pay our respective bills (on time) but beyond that...?
Thoughts? Advice?

a 'loyalty' card was talked about a while ago (iz rememburz), but it was deemed 'not such a great idea'.. could get abused, but could have potential given the right (dare I say) 'policing' so that it's honoured and not taken the piss out of

I have a Caltex and a Shell card.
Shell gives no discounts, but Caltex gave heaps off.
A fill up of $50 in the cage would cost $40-45, big savings over a year.

suppose it could be done... and make it a prepay system?Prepay would be the only way to go IMO, if that is possible. I can just imagine what it would be like for the generous person organising this sort of scheme, chasing up $10 from people who are slow payers.

someone would need to talk to a petrol company first to see what happens with other company/groups loyalty cards, and how/if it would be possible to arrange for them to be prepaid. if prepaid isnt an option it would probably be smarter to restrict it to approved senior members?

Kinda negates the point if so... the whole point of this kinda scheme was that enough people would use it to make it financially viable for the petrol companies to offer a discount.
If say 10 - 20 people we using it, they wouldn't bother.

i would use it and am sure many others would but yeah as weasel said if only the select can use it then you won't be giving them much business so they won't care about giving out discounts to fast

Forgive me if I am being obtuse, but why would it have to be prepaid? Are you talking about a loyalty card (petrol wins prizes) or are you talking about an account? If an account, is there not any way of ensuring that the individual is responsible for their own debts- i.e. their credit card details would be provided to the company on joining..?

Good thinking that person/bug/oxter... whatever.
I'm all for getting some benefit out of it but not burdoning anyone with admin or liabilities.
If we could get a billing authority over an account then hell yeah - why not?
Warning - I know jack about setting these things up so if someone in a billing type role can confirm or correct me... go for it. I usually don't take it too personally... and stop crying within a week otherwise.
