He looked pretty fuckin impressive from where i was at pukekohe in the weekend, first time on a 600cc and kicking it (and beating) with the best in NZ, keep an eye on this guy at Manfeild this weekend. Running in the mid 59's first time out as well is some serious pace on the 600 bike, and the superbikes "fuck" think Giles ran a 57.2, wont be long till they are hitting 56's.

It was the 15 lap TT race he won for the record.

um no offence to two smoker, but he's in a completly different league to him. he's only 17 and already beating the guys that have been round forever (stroud etc). He also came 2nd in the 125 support race class at the philip island gp round. His times would have qualified him for the proper 125 gp class. Very impressive if you ask me.

Yep, he's something alright. Out braking Andrew Stroud (NZ SBK champ and been in the World GP and SBKs) says something.
Started from 7th on that race and passed everyone by the end of it to win the TT. Fuck, is this kid good or what?

No offence to me, but as people have said, he is in another league at the moment... First time racing 600's and was straight into the 59's (setting a new lap record of 59.1) Yes he may have the most powerful bike there (it was proven many a time on the front and back straight) but his passing manuvoures and riding in general was fucking amazing for his age and experience on a 600....
I think i need some time on a 125....

I don't whether he had the fasted bike or not - but he can sure ride!
At one stage there were 4 or 5 abreast down the start/finish straight (including the likes of Stroud, Shirriffs, the Aussie, etc) with Smith tucked-in behind with no room to pass, so he went round the outside of the lot using the 30cm or so of pavement between the white line and the grass - just before everyone buttoned-off for the fast righthand sweeper. It was impressive!
