Friday 23rd I've been told is a public track day..
So I'm well up for it, in the spirit of just coming off the Taupo track too. Who else is up for a legal blast?

How many km have it done (Its avon vipers aint it)

yeah, Vipers.
done about 4,000ks now. I should have had the sides go along with the middle. When I bought them, I was hoping to do a few good runs, but haven't had much time to do that, so it's been mostly commuting. Then to keep the good ol' adrenalin going, there's wheelies, and dragging off the lights, which doesn't help the middle.. I've cut down on those lately. Might just buy a new tyre, and keep this for when I want to do track days

If the weather is fine then it's a high possibility that my SV will drag me down there.

My rear tire is less fucked than I thought it would be after taupo, so I suppose I could go to Puke and finish it off. I'll have to see what the boss says first though.

Could be a starter. need to confirm though. Weather could be a bit dodgy which can take the fun outa Puke, unlike Taupo. :Punk:

Famous last words...

squared tyres just don't do the job the same aye, even if you're planning on being on the edge the whole time.

well yeah, I ride with that in mind..
I just can't use the sides at all on the road, so I want to give them one last shot on the track.

Sorry mate, I'd be pretty disapointed if I couldn't hussle that around Puke in under a 1.22. There's no substitute for experiance.

Pay me a dollar and I'll tell ya how.

Are people still going to this? The weather forcast looks a bit dodgey. Unless it looks really crap, i'll probably turn up at the track and make a decision then.

twas a pity you couldn't make it. The rain stayed away all day, and the cloud cover from the morning put alot of people off. Meant the track was nice an empty.

Was a pretty cool day, weather was sweet untill a bit of rain halfway through the 5th session. Slightly windy though. Got into the 1.16's, an improvement of about 2.5 secs on the last time I went down which I was pretty stoked about. Also managed to somehow un-warp my front brakes. Not sure how that happened but they turned a funny blueish rainbow colour which I guess was from the heat.

Was really deserted , probably would have only been about 20 people using the track including cars and bikes.

I had one session on my busa, had a blast 1st time out there.
Did any of you guys find it pretty bumpy going around, god knows it upset my handling. The wind was quite fierce down the back straight too.
Will try to make the next one.

Yeah it can be a bit bumpy in places, takes a few laps to start getting used to it. I was trying to pin myself to the tank on the back straight, didn't really notice the wind too much.
