Hey Darren & everyone,

Sorry I wasn't able to make it to talk over the 250 Club with all of you. I ended up having heaps of study to do so didn't think I could justify a day away from the books.

I had bumped into Stew yesterday at his shop and his sentiments on the club were the same as mine. Be great to get an overview.

Mr Melon! Did ya get my text this morning??

See yas soon, Cathy :ride:

LOL guess you can blame Stew for that one Darren :) - all his teasing about you not pushing the bike hard enough.

Thank goodness I wasn't out with you guys yesterday. Geez you had a good day for it.

Was the L plate on the back?

Hey Darren,
Stink about the ticket! Ouch!!

So did ya come to any conclusions about how the "Club" should be run?
Someone was saying about putting money in and I know others just wanted it as a more informal thing.

Cheers Cathy

:ar15:

well $230 fine pees me off, stupid for me for speeding really.

Anyway the direction of the club is as follow
we are keeping it to a ride meet kind of thing
no money changeing hands no formal system.

Some are wanting to blow this club right out
but there are to many issues regarding this
to deal with and I think most people would just
like it to stay the way it is.

we are looking at doing a ride every 2 weeks though
and I would like to have some sort of social event
if possible.

kleep it fun thats what we have to work on

I will post when the next ride is soon :wavey:

So did you have your L plate on? I keep forgetting (honest!!) to put mine back on since it blew off when we went up the Rimutaka's those few weekends back. And that would be 58kms over the speed limit too, :scooter: ooooppppsss.

Sounds good about the club Darren - keep it simple & fun I reckon. :niceone:

That's 58kms over the limit if you're on your L Plates. :shit:
You're lucky you've still got your bike and you're not behind bars.

On a seperate note, I'm keen as hell to come out for a ride with you guys but I had a wedding last weekend and was still fairly drunk on Sunday.
If it's fine this weekend, is anyone keen for a blat up the takas??? I've convinced my wife to bring her bike out this weekend so it would be cool to make the most of it.

Why not meet at the upperhutt Caltex (or nearby) at 8:30 on Sunday morning. There's usually a bunch of riders meeting then.

I'd love to come (now I've got my new expensive DID chain fitted to the Duc) but we'll be at Ruapuna. Have a good ride if you go guys/guyesses.

e-riders have a fairly informal arrangement to meet at 8.30am at Caltex Rimutaka on any fine Sunday, so you may meet up with some of them.

i no it should b you're but i claim to b illiterate so yea and 8.30 is kind of early

LB

The reason for the 8.30am start is twofold.

Firstly, it gives us a good run over the hill before there's too much traffic around.

Secondly, a lot of the e-riders have wives/families who don't ride, so by leaving early the guys (or guyesses) can have a reasonable length of time out riding but be back home for sunday lunch/whatever with the family.

(and thirdly, it means I can fit in a LONG day's riding!!)

In deference to the cold weather, we start at 9.00am during winter months.

Apart from our "formal" rides, it's a very informal set-up, and if you want to come over later you can usually find us at the Flying Fish in Martinborough at some stage during the day - often we're there for lunch then back there for avo tea.

I guess too that a lot of us are old farts who have no social life :disapint: , so we're asleep  early Sat evening instead of being out on the town so are rearing to go riding early Sunday..... :ride:
