Hokay.

Well, there's been plenty of :violin: lately, so when I decided to poke some fun at it, I got tons of green blingies. Everything was in jest until whammo, someone calls in the thought police and my post gets deleted. (Yes I checked this time)

My beef is in the fact that it has been said that mods will tell you if your post has been deleted, and why. I got none of that. I have the upmost respect for the kind mods, and usually hate this sort of thing, but I would like to know why my post was targeted for termination.

Just a request.

One in Kittie's thread. It's definately been deleted because the rep I got for it was gone too.

Has it gone completely or has it gone to pointless dribble?

If part of a thread has turned into a bunch of dribble totally off topic a mod can move that section of the thread to Pointless drivvel section--in that section your posts dont increase your post count and you dont get pos or neg rep--

mstriumph

but you CAN get rep for posts in pointless drivel??

SPORK

Yeah exactly, I get it all the time.

Somefing is a foot! No, wait, that would be my foot. But something is afoot!

soooooooooooooo - mmmmmmmmm - lemme THINK ----

i calculate it thuswize:-

moderators decide a thread is pointless drivel an move it
BUT
IFFEN you get REP POINTS for pointless drivel posts ....
THEN the posts obviously AREN'T 'pointless'

therefore the moderators are OBLIGED to move the thread back OUT of pointless drivel ........................... n'est pas??

..... confused? you ain't seen NUTHIN yet ... :ride:

obviously everyone is struck dumb by the brilliance of my deductions .....

[bit strange since it was OMGWTFBBQ's posting deductions that started all this .....]

ah well :baby:

I checked the site rules or guideline thingys and I couldn't see anything about any of this here. Methinks it would be appropriate for something to be written or amended to the guidelines so that people are aware of rep and PD and all that good stuff.

And MS.T. not struck dumb, just accepting logic....:yeah:

Mods use disgression, they are people who show they can and have a bit of responsibilty with their job. and its been said before, if you got a problem, see a mod, if you've got a problem with a mod see a senior mod (or spankme)

No offence OWB, but if you dont read stickies then your posts deserve deletion.

First have a look how little billy finds out about forums

That doesn't answer my question. I'm sure other people have had similar experiences so I believe it would be better to get it out in the open rather than contain it to private messages.

After all,

I > Internet

lol at " I > Internet"

I wasnt aiming to answer your question, I was pointing out that just before this thread, this was a thread _about_ posting this kind of thread.

Mods use disgression

Wow. Has a new KB word been invented?

disgression (d-grs, d-)
intr.v. dis·gressed, dis·gress·ing, dis·gress·es

To go off-topic, especially from the main thread in writing or speaking; stray from original thread.
