those bikes are so fucken gutless they cant even powerstand, see those losers trying to do victory lap antics . the bikes couldnt even do a burnout , i suppose if you cant make a bike to win races you might as well make a race where its the only bike allowed on the track

watched that one where the raced at silverstone (i think) and that was ghey as well .
a bike can pull a wheelie from the side providing you have traction easier than bolt upright cause the gearing is lower on the side of the tyre where the radius is smaller, but those fuckers couldnt even do gorilla pull ups . then see that moron clip the other morons handle bar , what a shit bunch of amatuers, one standard zx10 would put an end to that party

My 2 cent's worth , I thought they went pretty well considering . Winja don't know if you have owned are ridden a Naked bike at over 230k's it's fuck hard work & I can tell you that from owning one & trying to do it .165HP in a nake bike is bloody Impressive , we have that in our GSXR . plus they are very long & the rear shock doesn't let them wheelie that easily.
2 cent's used up BYE :niceone:

Does anyone know the lap time differences between bikes and different sorts of cages going around the same track?
I'd be interested to know what/where the standings would be. A good comparison perhaps?

Yup, I do 250kmh on my naked Gsx1400 regularly and had to change my helmet to a more streamlined one to keep my peepers level on the road.
Bloody good for the neck muscles though. I'll look like Arnie very soon. :) :0

It's a serious question, and I find it difficult to read in a Barney voice myself!
Perhaps a bit over the top for him to talk about... BBBBuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrpppp!!!!

Have to agree with Winja on this. Those bikes were just too big and ungainly. Couldn't believe that one of those dicks clipped someone after just making a piss-poor attempt at a wheelie. The key is to practice your tricks when nobody is watching, until you are comfortable enough to step it up to having an audience. Not live on TV when sharing the track with other racers. It doesn't matter the size of the audience if you are going to fuck it up, its going to be when everybody is watching cause your head is getting too big for your helmet and needs to deflate a bit.

And yes I am jealous, would love to go racing just can't afford to at the moment.

P.S. Here's a freer flowing version of that Garry McCoy pic... with a little more footage too.

One of those 'amateurs' is Stefan Mehrtens.
No-ones mentioned lap times, that'll show the truth.

Yes there were a couple of international racers I recognised....Im pretty sure their lap times at Donington were in the 1'40"s whereas the MotoGP bikes do it in 1'25" aroundabouts....so a little off the pace

What one person finds interesting, another will not. Simple fact really. Do you think you could hop onto one of those BMWs and beat the pack? I doubt that seriously as it does not look totally easy. I heard that they might be canning that class of racing next year anyhow, so you might not have to put up with it much longer.:corn:

Yea I noticed that. Quite surprising as it is often raced in between Moto GP rounds.

Whelp, the first race I watched a few weeks ago, I was telling the fambily how they couldn't wheelie, when bugger me! A couple of them pulled quite respectable wheelies at the end of the races. I suspect they were muscled up rather than just powered up, but they were wheelies nonetheless.

Ugly bikes though.

What do production sprotbikes do then? That'll be a bit more like comparing apples with apples.

Bit like comparing 125cc, 250cc and moto gp, a waste of time...

Well I don't know if you blokes have seen them live, but I did this year at Mugello and Catalunya and I found them to be bloody impressive. They run them on the Saturday of practice and Qualifying. Oh, and most of the riders are ex GP and Superbike riders ! G.

gav
19th December 2005, 16:51
When it started out as the Boxer cup stuff, think it was a bit better and more like "celebrity" racing with ex racers like Schwantz and Cadalora etc, now with the 4 cylinders its just err naked "ugly" bike racing, and think a few of those riders are becoming specialist beemer cup runners. BMW are pulling out of MotoGP so we probably wont see them next year (thank god)

My 2 cents worth says it was an interesting race. Skill was where it's at, not just power. I suggest you do some more research into the ability of those bikes before you write them off so easily. They didn't win awards for nothing. I agree with the bit about riding a naked at high speed, it's a new experience for those of you surrounded by plastic.
Of course I'm biased, and my current ride couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, but I'd happily take your Suzuki on over a forestry track! :cold:
