"Wild Flare" Tyres

After a recent "incident", I had a new rear tyre fitted yesterday.
The bike shop had only one of the right size in stock - so it was take that tyre or wait until after christmas.
The tyre I had installed was an IRC "Wild Flare". The attached pics show that the tread pattern has a kind of flame thing happening. Now, as the EL250 is a kind of cruisery machine, and because the bloody thing is spinning most of the time anyway - it should be OK. I havnt tried it in the wet yet, and am wondering whether they will be any good at pumping water.
Has anyone else tried these tyres?

Mrs H had IRCs on her Marauder. They seemed to do the biz OK.

That look OK, I can't see any reason for them not to shed water well.

Has anyone else tried these tyres?My vtr250 had IRC 'Road Winner' (Ugh.. What a horrible name) tyre on the back. It was fine around corners on that particular vehicle (The vtr is over-tyred for it's size) but I would often lock up the back wheel being only slightly ham footed with the brake. I don't mind locking the back tyre however (It's fun) so it didn't bother me. I imagine your bike is very similar to how my vtr was, so an IRC tyre isn't really a bad choice. Perhaps find out (Carefully) if the tyre locks up earlier than the old one did so you know if you need to be gentle.

Had IRC's on my old FXR - they were shit and let go very easily in the wet. I personally would not put much faith in the IRC brand.

They look good. I had a look at a couple of links on this tyre and they are a sports touring tyre. I'm no expert on this but the tyre seems to have a lot of 'flat' rubber. I'm betting that it would not take much water for the the tyre to start 'planing' and if that happens at speed you're in deep shit. But then it's summer so go for it.
