Sniper, have you tried HJT, and CWShredder?.
Don't mess with HJT less you know what running processes are sposed to be in the list, and which ones aren't. Most recurring BHO's are the result of a shitty little .dll hidden somewhere. HJT will indentify the BHO (or other), and most of the major spyware forums will tell you where the hidden file is, and how to kill it.
Another handy little program is "killbox" which will delete files that you cant get rid of with the delete button, sounds wierd, but its common, but you'll have experianced that by the sounds of it. :P

Yep, Hijack This is a useful tool and well delete a dodgy BHO. Only problem being is that it will not pick up another .dll who's sole purpous is to spawn another BHO under a different name. Its a fantastic trick which uses my token tip of making a back-up of all the .dll's in the system32 folder and then deleting them one by one until the program dies. Takes ages to do, but it works

Dangerous approach there matey. Try & get the following:
Ad-Aware SE Personal (http://www.lavasoftusa.com)
Spybot - Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)
HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html) (http://www.hijackthis.de/ - log file analysis)
Sysinternals - Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html)
CCleaner (CCleaner.com)
If it's a difficult beast to kill and restarting in safe mode doesn't help with removing it i.e self protecting adware/virus, then you'll need to create a windows boot cd so you'll then fire up windows without firing up windows. This will allow you to nuke the files and registry settings without the adware/virus knowing you're removing it (I've recently had to do such a thing).
Virus scanners don't pick up adware/spyware but I really think they should.
Oh and stop surfing the Internet with IE. Use Firefox (www.mozilla.com), not to forget run a firewall too.

Im not know for my safty concious attitude at work
Try & get the following:
Ad-Aware SE Personal (http://www.lavasoftusa.com)
Doesn't get rid of a self installing program, but I do use it thanks.
Spybot - Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)
Spybot conflicts with too many programs for my liking
HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html) (http://www.hijackthis.de/ - log file analysis)
Great program but as I say, it won't fix a self installing file if it reappears all the time.
Sysinternals - Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html)
Process Explorer can be compromised by certain spyware so I don't go near it.
CCleaner (CCleaner.com)
Never tried it, but thanks.

Thats a good idea, but takes longer than my way. Besides, its not as much fun.

I agree there, but imagine the amount of work and programming required to make such a program. Getting the updates right and making sure it can contain and delete/clean such viruses without compromising its own integrety.

I run through quite a nice firewall at work and I hate Firefox. In fact, I loathe it, don't ask me why, but in the 2 minutes I spent with it and the 3 days I spent trying to fix the PC's after uninstalling it, I just don't like it.
Thanks for the advice though.

Hahahaha, I know that one quite well. Have you tryed telling them that when you type in "regedit" and you gey all those keys you have a major virus on your hands and they need to place everything into the recycle bin to sanitise it?
