Hi All,

Just bought the Garmin Quest 2 (http://www.garmin.com/products/quest2/) - mostly for use in the US (I live there) but am also planning a tour of the North Island (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=21815) in February.

I've been searching around for maps that I can load on the Quest so that I can bring it on my trip. Garmin doesn't seem to offer any. You guys/gals know of a solution for the Quest?

- Thanx!
- Jon

I think you may have issues, do the makers even know where NZ is?

Yes, there is lots there, but I already have the unit - just want to find a mapping solution that I can upload to the Garmin Quest 2. Anyone make maps of NZ that I can use for this hardware solution?

- Thanx

Haha. Looks like you are right! What do you use for a GPS solution? A map? :-) Garmin is the clear leader here, in my view... (best solution for our roads).

Navman. Made in NZ, sold worldwide, has NZ maps.

Actually, I hosted a guy here recently who (I think) was using Garmin, and he loaded some NZ maps onto it. They were pretty bad (poor detail), but worked. Mostly. I'll check it out, and get back to you............................................... .................................................. .......................

..... I'm back.

They're sooooo 90's mate. As mentioned by HRH Viffer - What you need is a Navman (http://www.navman.com/). These are the dogs danglies.

Yep. I was just able to do the same. Even got help from the Graeme (the developer of the maps) when I ran into some problems (god I love the internet).

I looked at the Navman after getting the recommendations here. I don't think they'd work for my application as I am planning to use the Quest on a motorcycle (it's rated to actually survive being submerged for 30 mins - not that I'd do that intentionally). I couldn't find anything about Navman's water resistant ability on their website... What do you do about that Biff?
