Touring bike for Australia

I want to buy a bike for touring in Austalia. Starting in Tasmania and then going north as winter sets in. I will buy this bike in Aus and then sell when Im finished with it.

Budget Seven Thousand dollars
Not interested in Harley or cruiser
Good fuel range
Two up
Mostly hard road but who knows
still want some performance on the curves
Reliable

Could anyone recommend a bike that will cover above specs

ZZR was the first that popped into my mind. Should be able to pick up a late 90s for $7k (probably, maybe)

But then I am a kawasaki freak.
